OMAM wouldn't be a headliner. They're #14 at Firefly. Probably a pre-HL at Shaky Knees
Sweetwood likes to make smaller bands headliners as he's said in the past. Tame Impala, Alabama Shakes (at the time), The National
If for some reason he does give them a headlining spot, it'll be like Tame Impala, where they're not booked third, and scheduling just ends up having them be the headliner

That's what I would've thought. I would say Florence but I'd imagine her play HOF make her very unlikely.
I doubt Shaky would do that to us OMAM really? That band is far from the mold they have created.
And is Green Day with the exception of dookie even cool enough to be at this fest?
Im thinking Ben Harper, Vampire Weekend, Beck
Undercard- Slowdive, Death cab for cutie, the Growlers, New York dolls, Grouplove, Bully, Caveman, Beat happening, Courtney barnett
I can't imagine Vampire Weekend being back around so soon. There hasn't been much news on the recording of a new album yet. Unless I missed something?
Well I just figured since they tried to book them in the past that this could be the year. I know theyre off the radar but I would be expecting them to appear soon even without a new album

One of the members recently released a solo album (in October I think) so I'm sure he will do some touring with that before more vampire weekend happens

Wrong. VW, like Arcade Fire, pretty much only tour behind their albums
Takes twice as long on a bus for me to get to Boston compared to Atlanta.
Very fair. I've yet to go to Shaky Knees because the timing has never lined up well with my college, and because I'm in NY, I'd have to devote a couple extra days for travel

Looking back at last year when they announced the lineup, there really wasn't a single person on here who wasn't floored by it. Do you think since the expectations are set so high, it won't turn out as impressive this year?

Not saying they are going to be there but they headlined P4K in 2012 without new music to support.

Probably but that depends how high people set their expectations. There's no way we can expect as good a line up as this year, because there just aren't as many good bands touring. But I'm sure they'll still do great with their limited resources.

If you've liked the first 3 lineups, no reason to think this one won't bring satisfaction at a minimum. I do wonder if we start to see any repeats...Band of Horses maybe.

I'm not sure they would headline anymore and they wouldn't come back to not headline. Dr Dog is the only repeat so far. Portugal the Man makes sense.

PtM played '14 and did a late night last year...Wilco, the Pixies and Ryan Adams managed not to headline...maybe Band of Horses could stomach it. The festival is obviously larger now.

I will always love the Tweedy comment, "Hey guys, we're happy to be back in Atlanta. Usually we play a bit later in the day but we'll still have some fun."

Yeah but wasn't something said last year about one band being back every year in one form or another? Plus PtM love Atlanta, along with Grouplove who pretty much self confirmed themselves.

Sorry--totally late coming to this... but would MMJ really come back so soon after doing a night at Georgia Theater and two nights at the Fox on their 2015 tour?

Avett Brothers did two nights at Verizon Ampitheater in July 2014 then did Shaky Knees in May 2015. MMJ came in early August and Avetts came late July, since SK is a week later this year, it's really only a week or so difference between Avetts and MMJ if they were to play.

MMJ played Red Rocks in mid-August and are playing two shows there on Memorial Day weekend, and festivals offer more leeway than concerts, so the answer is a definite yes
