Yeah, that was just more of a personal preference instead of being realistic.
Hadn't thought about this band in awhile but was listening to Editors today. Looked up what they're up to and they have a new album due out this fall. They'd seem to be a natural follow up to Interpol.
i think if the avett bros can headline weezer can. especially if they blew a bunch of $ on the top 2 of AM and Beck
Avetts are playing bigger venues than Weezer. While I could see them as a weaker third headliner in the way that Tame Impala were this year I'd think it'd far more likely they get the Pixies or Wilco spot

Plus Avetts have a big following in the south. I would def be down for Weezer, and wouldn't have an issue with them headlining. I just would be surprised if it happened. If they did get booked, it would prob be a Pixies type of placement.
Sadly, I don't think so. I think The Cure is as big as we can possibly get. If we are discussing 90's grunge though, Soundgraden and/or Jane's addiction would be great next year (I think Soundgarden has an album coming out) and they could both fill that Pixies/Noel Gallagher slot

Soundgarden may even be too big but I'd totally be down with them/Chris Cornell.

But Shaky Knees has been getting bigger every single year. If this pattern continues we could definitely get some bigger headliners. Even though it's perfect the way it currently is.

Yeah Shaky getting bigger each year is the only reason I even consider The Cure possible because they are certainly bigger than anyone Shaky has gotten before. But Pearl Jam is just too big of a jump up from The Strokes to realistically expect it.
With the amount of people we have that attend this...there should be more discussion about the upcoming lineup.
MMJ is headlining, right?
Agreed there should be more BUT there just really aren't any rumors or leaks or anything of that nature to get te fire going. Nobody has confirmed but I expect to get Beck and/or MMJ. Also, with Animal Collective confirmed for Levitation, I'm willing to bet that they'll be at Shaky Knees. (hopefully FlyLo will be as well.) Either of them at Terminal West or The Masquerade for after shows would be minnd blowing.

Why's that?
Also, I think Flying Lotus is a little too far removed from SK's general aesthetic for them to book him. He's waaaay different than say Panda Bear or James Blake when compared the the usual bands they book. Plus it needs to be dark out for Flying Lotus to really work.
If they want to book him for a late-night show then by all means, let's rage.

The number of acts shared between the two fests last year is crazy AND one of those shared acts was Panda Bear. They arent even the same weekend this year so I think they could have even more shared acts this year. About FlyLo, I agree, that's why i put him separately in the parentheses. I'd love for them to get him simply for a LN show, but I doubt that'll happen.

Gotcha. I definitely would want Animal Collective there I just didn't follow your reasoning.

Only vaguely related here but one of the first times I saw Flying Lotus he closed out Trinumeral Fest at King Plow. This is before King Plow was renovated and turned into Terminal West. It was on his first tour with the 3D screens. It was hot and loud and so much freaking fun. I want THAT kind of FlyLo show during Shaky Knees.
Does anyone know if any dance clubs in Atlanta had big stuff going on during Shaky Knees? That weekend would be a perfect time to schedule a big name--especially for MJQ, Sound Table, Music Room, et al. who are right by Central Park.
I know that one club in Lindbergh had Sasha last year but I can't recall anything else similar. It would be awesome to have those venues as an option even if it's in an unofficial capacity.
