How is Jane's Addiction live these days? I had to sell my tickets the last time I had a chance to see them.
They were fucking amazing at Voodoo last year, simply one of the best sounding sets I've ever heard. And they were even better performance wise the year before at Bayfest.
So jealous of this lineup. Wish I could go. Hey Rothric how did you get that signed ATW vinyl?
It said I pick up the vinyl at the show. So kind of hoping I get to pick it up from the band themselves. I bet they'll be working merch either way, but would be cool.
I won the contest in Atlanta. Did the same thing, going every day and hitting the max points. Tunespeak told me they'd mail me the vinyl, so I didn't try to meet them at the show to get it. Afterward, the band hit me up on Instagram saying "why didn't you come get your vinyl?" and they're gonna mail it to me. So yeah, definitely just go pick it up at the merch table. They'll have your name probably.
I booked a room at the Hampton Inn which seemed to be the cheapest one (not really cheap at $210 a night) I could find within walking distance. Let me know if anyone finds anything cheaper.
There's probably nothing cheaper near the park, but it is on the Marta line, so you could conceivably stay further away in a less expensive area

Is Walk The Moon a joke? The only person I know who likes them is my 11-year-old son and all his friends, who hear it at school every day in some gym class. Any other parents out there have kids who listened to that "shut up" song like a billion times? So annoying. I thought Shaky Knees was better/different than that.
Doubt I'll do the whole weekend but will def come up there and daypass the day ATDI plays. Hopefully it's Saturday and includes MMJ, ATDI, Huey Lewis and Savages.

I consider it a blessing in disguise. Maybe they'll be playing right before MMJ on a different stage or something so I can get a sweet spot for them.
Yeah, I'm kind of disappointed by the lineup. After last year, how could they even come close? I really only have money to go to Bonnaroo or SK, not both. Last 2 years, I did SK, since it was stellar, but I'm thinking not so much now.

How is SK? I have never been and wondering how it stacks up? How is the sound? organization? crowd vibe? layout? food? all that good stuff....

I think I like this year's lineup better. Last year had more of a quantity of acts I wanted to see but could have lived without seeing them (except for the Strokes and American Football.) But this year has bands that I've been dying to see for awhile now. ADTI, EITS, Ought, The Front Bottoms and Parquet Courts are all near the top of my current bucket list

Well the venue has changed so no idea about that, but last year was great!
Sound was good on all of the stages, no sound bleed that I was aware of. Organization of this fest, I think is pretty great, everyone seems to be on their game. The layout has been well done each year. Great food - lots of food trucks, although they always seem to not have enough of them and there are long lines for food ..... Plenty of drink vendors. Security to get in is pretty easy and not too crazy. Overall I love this fest and it has a great vibe, plus I know so many people that go!

Not having to wait an hour for food is my sole wish this year.
2017: 2/24 Twenty One Pilots 4/1 Radiohead 6/7 Glass Animals 9/10 Modest Mouse 9/21 Arcade Fire 9/29 Kings of Leon 10/3 Foster the People 10/17 The xx 10/22 LCD Soundsystem 11/8 Bon Iver

The venue should help with that. Centennial Park is in the heart of Atlanta and is surrounded by restaurants. If the food trucks have a long line then there are other close by options. Reentry into SK has been really easy in the past.

It's pretty nice. It can get quite crowded, but that's to be expected. Sound is pretty nice, pretty good acoustics overall. I would say the food is good, but I would try to hit it during off peak hours since it can get crazy by the food trucks. One problem is that usually you have to leave sets early to get a decent spot in another show, there's practically no time between the two. Overall, I've had a lot of fun at SK, mostly because the past two years have had an amazing lineup, but it's run fairly nicely. Good crowd vibes though, definitely. Passionate fans at all the bands I saw.

Now that we have a great lineup all I can ask for is that the Dos Equis platform bar return in a prime viewing location again. Every year that has been my group's meet up spot and we usually watch a fair number of sets from their.
So I'm probably reading too much into this but the Billboard article from yesterday mentioned there'll be 75 bands while the poster only has 72. Each of the last two years they've added a Peachtree (second stage) closer (The Replacements in 2014 and Ride in 2015). Are we thinking that'll happen again this year? And who would be some possibilities?
