I never felt it was a competition, just a personal preference. TMV is an all time fav band. Saw them 6x all together.......the first time in NOLA during JF on the Frances tour was life changing.
Yeah, TMV was always my preferred form. I only saw them three times, but the first time at the Tabernacle in like 09 was my favorite.
I was gonna try to go to the Tab show in '08 but that tornado hit it I think. Glad I didn't try to drive up for that one. Saw them that 08 tour at the HOB in nola, and goddamn, seeing Pridgen that close and personal was something to witness. He truly pushed Omar to the limit. (Not hating on Jon Theodore, as I still try to play like him, but Pridgen's skill is unobtainable to 99% of drummers)

I saw TMV 4 times, Sparta 3 times and Shaky Knees will be my first time seeing ATDI.
Really gonna try to see ATDI at Shakey Knees. Wish they were Saturday thought, it'd be way easier to day pass it plus see MMJ.

I saw them at the Tabernacle in 05. I think I had tickets to the one that was cancelled. The other 2 times I saw them were at roo in 05 and 09 and opening for SOAD in 05.
NOLA 05- Orpheum Theater Summer 05 opening for SOAD (Pensacola crowd HATED tmv and basically booed them off stage after they went too far out during Drunkship) NOLA-08- HOB NOLA-08 Voodoo Roo- 09 - My first Roo, and I was not even gonna go until TMV and of Montreal got added, My two fav bands at the time back to back, then NIN later, best day ever. Omar solo w/ Cedric and rest of TMV @ HOB Parish nola......that was an awesome surprise. Basically played Noqtourniquet before anyone heard it.
Really wish I could have seen Deloused tour. My buddy that was a huge ATDI fan saw one of the first TMV shows at the 40 Watt during the Tremulant era. *jealous*
Also wish I could have seen them during Amputechture era as that is prob my fav overall album (I'm in the extreme minority). Would have killed to hear Day of the Baphomets live. Same with Eriatarka from Deloused.

Yea I think the 40 Watt show was before De-Loused was released but they were already playing it. I wish I had known about that show.
Inertiatic ESP Cicatriz ESP Cut that City Concertina Roulette Dares (The Haunt Of)
My first show- 4/28/05 Orpheum Theater NOLA ( I feel like they played Cicatriz too. The show was nearly 4 hours long no setbreak.....first time I'd ever been to a show with anyone for real jamming)
Drunkship of Lanterns Concertina Take the Veil Cerpin Taxt Cygnus…Vismund Cygnus L’Via L’Viaquez Roulette Dares The Widow Cassandra Gemini

I saw them the day after you did in Apr. 05. Same set list. They played around 2 1/2 hr.

I'm an Amputechture guy as well. Seeing them with Pridgen was insane. He was witht hem the first time I saw them and I still don't know if I've ever seen another drummer go out there and kill it like that.
They def played way longer than 2.5 in nola. Cassandra alone was over an hour. They were VERY high that night. This was during the heroin phase. I remember I was close to Juan and he left the stage during a guitar jam and came back so coked up and just went off, shit was cracking me up. I'd never seen a band go 70's hard in person.
Pretty crazy that Foals are booked fourth at Glastonbury (over Beck) but at Shaky Knees they are fourth line, three spots behind Young The Giant.
It's that regionalism thing. You'd think things would be more normalized now with the internet, but the gaps between popularity in areas is still massive at times.
Y'all think there is any possibility ATDI would do a latenight like at the Tab? They're not a headliner and I doubt it would affect ticket sales in anyway.

No, because they don't do late night shows at the Tabernacle, and can't.

"They can't"? How is that? They have Tribe play all night there on NYE etc GNR didn't come out till after 2am when they played the same night as radiohead as well.

Tab is owned by Live Nation. They haven't done any late night shows there before, probably because they were competitors. However, C3 bought at least a stake in Shaky and Live Nation owns a stake in C3, so Tab late nights wouldn't surprise me at all this year. In fact, their calendar is clear and I would bet there will be late nights there.

Never really considered that, it would be great if they could use the Tabernacle, but the thought of Shaky having anything to do whatsoever with Live Nation is pretty scary. I could be wrong about there not being late night shows at the Tabernacle.
I know this isn't going to happen, but think of how awesome it would be if they used the Philips Arena as a late night venue.

Well Shaky is at least partially owned by C3 and C3 is owned 51% by LN so it is what it is. Shaky just got bought a few months back so I'm expecting the Tab to be in play. And Philips is an absolutely terrible venue with horrible sound. I can't think of anything worse than a late night show there, not that it would happen anyway as it's obviously too big for anyone but probably Flo and they wouldn't bring someone else in to have an 18k venue late night show.
By the way, they've updated the festival grounds map on the website. Peachtree Stage (the main stage) is at the north end of Centennial Park, the second stage is in that little notch that backs up to the College Football Hall of Fame and the Buford Stage is on the south end where that stage is already set up. The other two stages are side-by-side on the west side of International Plaza. Anyone who is talented enough to include a picture of it on here go ahead.
