Friends, We are deeply sorry to say that, due to a serious illness in Nick's family, we must cancel this summer’s Work This Body Tour. For many years now, Nick's dad has been suffering from Early-Onset Alzheimer’s Disease. Unfortunately, it’s reached a point where he needs to come home and focus on his family for awhile. Out of respect for the immediate commitments we’ve made, we will play out the rest of our shows in May - after that, we will be taking a break from the road. All tickets to our headline shows in July + August will be refunded. With a heavy heart we send our gratitude out to our team, our industry friends, and most importantly our fans for their understanding and support. Through this time, it continues to be our dream and our mission to take the darkness in our lives and mold it into light + color. The only way out is through. <+> Love, WALK THE MOON

Good. I finally got my schedule sorted and couldn't deal with them messing it up more.

Of course, my concern was that they were gonna shift Foals into a headliner spot and mess everything up.
But I am gonna enjoy me some 1975 the night before
Jesus Christ, man. Even if they weren't up against Jane's Addiction playing Ritual De La Habitual, I don't know if I could watch an entire set of The 1975 without rushing the stage to punch the singer in the dick. Their music is perfectly harmless pop stuff, but that guy grates on me way more than he should.

Yeah, I wish the Strokes would headline every Shaky Knees from here on out. I know how much you love them.
I feel the same way about Janes though. I've never been able to listen to them and I don't know why. Plus, I hate old people crowds. It's why I completely plan on going home before Dead and Co at Roo.

Are you serious? Did you just really say that? That's it...
Has anyone received a shipping notice email or anything yet? I am going to Hangout the weekend end after SK and my passes are on their way already...was just wondering if SK has started shipping theirs yet too.

I think they are being mailed this week or next. Not yet.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

I think I'll enjoy a crowd without a 40 year old passing out every 10 minutes.
For realsies though, Shaky Knees brunch has not really been successful in the past. Part of it is that the schedule starts early with bands that people actually want to see. Another part is that, historically, a lot of us have stayed together. Another is that Atlanta isn't a super easy city to negotiate and meeting up proves to be difficult especially if we're looking to do so early in the day. This is compounded by late nights happening the nights before.
All that being said, I could be down if people wanted to organize something. The lady friend and I are staying a few blocks away from the park, so we're planning on parking the car Friday morning and keeping it there until Monday morning. Picking a place close to the park would be nice (or at least a place close to a MARTA stop).

On the 13th they posted they'd ship in "about 2 weeks."

There's a pretty good pizza place near the park called Slice that we could meet at. But like Dave said, we probably won't.

As a qualifier, there was plenty of inforoo meeting up going on during the course of the day. We've just never pulled together a proper brunch outside the festival.
If people are interested in brunch near the park the best bet is probably West Midtown. West Egg, Thumbs Up Diner, and Amelie's are all good choices. Unless you literally want something right next to the park at which point you'd want to go to The Glenn, Atlanta Breakfast Club or Waffle House.
Speaking of West Midtown, all those staying close to the park should do their best to make it to Delia's Chicken Sausage stand for late-night eats. You won't regret it.
Also I'm down to meet up with everyone if this happens.
So I think I know the answer to this but to avoid paying for parking I was thinking about parking at the Wal-Mart about a mile west of the park. Would I be safe to park there (and walk to the park) or are the chances of something bad happening not worth the $20 or whatever parking will cost?
Second Delia's but with Marcel's late night menu right over there as well you can't lose, that burger is a game changer for late night dining.
Oh hell yea, good call. Marcel's late night menu is one of the best things in the city. Sitting directly atop Little Trouble is a pretty nice feature too.
