And they said..... If the answer is no to both of them, just tell us and if the answer is yes, just don't respond to this post
No to both.
Thank you sir. Honestly, those two never even crossed my mind as possibilities for Gov Ball. Has Gov Ball ever had a classic rock headliner like those two or Macca or Springsteen?

Closest one would be Gun N Roses featuring Fat Axl.
For those that do this, how do you get there? Brooklyn Shuttle/Manhattan Ferry/Express Bus?
I'm looking at hotels right now but want to figure out how I'm getting there first.
I have done all 3 options in the past. None are bad choices.
If you care about saving money, the bus and walking the bridge is a good option.
If you are staying in BK, go for the shuttle. The shuttle stop is right in the area where all the after parties are held, so if you plan on attending any of those it's an added bonus.
Manhattan Ferry: Well the line is pretty excruciating when leaving the fest. But I would recommend it.

Right now I'm thinking about staying in Harlem and just taking the express bus in, but the Brooklyn after-party point is one I hadn't thought of. I think if I stayed in Brooklyn I would end up going the airbnb route.

You'll have a much better experience if you stay in Brooklyn than if you stay in Harlem.

Best method = having a friend or taxi or uber drop you off and pick you up (though I imagine Uber would have increased fares based on demand).
When I went two years ago I took a bus and that was good one day but then the next day there was a huge line and I ended up having to walk. The walk wasn't terrible but even then I had to wait in a long line just to get in.
I haven't done the ferry but have heard there are sometimes big waits for them after the festival.
Walking wasn't bad. Buses were good if you get on line at the right time (probably early or after the festival starts). But getting dropped off by a taxi or friend is ideal.

not sure why a NY fest that has never happened or even been officially announced has more thread pages than a well established one that his been around for years

Because they're supposed to be getting LCD, it's run by the people who own Coachella, and most of those posts are actually just debating whether or not they should have another NYC fest so close to Gov Ball.
