They also tweeted a Best of 2015 Spotify playlist a week back, it had Kurt Vile, Deerhunter, Grimes, Sufjan, and "Chandelier" by Sia which came out in March of 2014. It also had an El Vy song, whose album, and overall project, wasnt that well received, so I think he only reason they put them on here was for a hint.

Pretty sure someone posted in the Bonaroo headliners thread that El VY had no plans of playing festivals in 2016. If they were on the lineup, however, that would definitely convince to go at least one day.
Yeah I saw an interview with the singer of the national and el vy (his name escapes me), but he said no festivals as el vy but the national is doing some festivals to play new music

Two friends and I are driving up from VA to do this, what's the best place to stay? Hotel in Brooklyn, right?
An airbnb or hotel in Astoria or LIC isn't a bad choice either. Usually cheaper than Brooklyn, and you can either walk across the bridge (about a 1.5 mile hike) or take the M60 bus across to Manhattan (about a .7 mile walk) right up to the festival.
I live in Queens so I've been doing that trip when I've gone, it's pretty easy unless there's a monsoon like in 2013.

Honestly if cost isn't an issue there's no reason to stay outside Manhattan and use public transit to get there. If you stay in Midtown East (air bnb or hotel) you can quickly get anywhere you need to.
Launchy, as always, comes through with some solid scoopage and interesting supporting information.
Other Kanye related scoops are teased by others. Said teases are not followed up on. Someone should be taking accountability.
Agreed. I'm a bit confused by what would've changed w/ Kanye between Tuesday and Wednesday, considering they're releasing the lineup tomorrow with no blurred names.
If you plan on doing after shows, I think staying around Williamsburg is more convenient than staying in Manhattan. Less of a hassle getting to where you need to be at the end of the night.
If you want to take in the city, do touristy stuff, and only catch a couple of shows at the fest. I'd stay in Manhattan.
considering how easy it is to get to/from Williamsburg from east side of Manhattan I'd strongly disagree but to each their own.

Yea thomasmars - it all depends on what you plan on doing when your not at the festival. If you plan on doing after shows each night then like Launchpad said, Brooklyn will be best. You can take the shuttle to and from the fest and be able to walk home at night's end.
However, if you plan to explore more - bar hop in the village, grab some chicken and rice, or get all touristy - then staying in Manhattan will give you more flexibility. You'll be able to take public transportation to the fest and even into Brooklyn if you wanted to catch an after show there. I'd also check the schedule for venues in Manhattan - while the venues in Brooklyn will host more of the official after parties, there will be plenty of shows those nights throughout Manhattan.
All of the hints have been removed from the Governors Ball website. The stick is completely gone on the side of the webpage and the graffiti has been replaced with an annoying hamster song.

UES/Harlem - walkable and easiest access to the festival, but not much nightlife Midtown Manhattan - closest to other touristy spots if you're there to see NYC, but most expensive Williamsburg/Brooklyn - Can use shuttle/ease of access to after shows, but almost as expensive as midtown and relatively far Astoria/LIC - walkable/cheaper, but bad access to after shows Other parts of Queens - cool neighborhoods, but bad transit access to festival Southern Brooklyn - pretty long trek for out-of-towners, but good deals to be had Long Island/Westchester/Jersey - better options elsewhere, unless you're forced to be there

I'm both intrigued, and worried. They're just messin with us, aren't they?
I have an airbnb rental reserved just in case, right next to the Bedford subway stop, like 5 minute walk from the Williamsburg shuttle. Cost around $120 a night, and that's for a whole apartment. I'm positive it would be cheaper if you rented a room instead. There's still tons of options out there.

I feel like that'd be a horrible move on their part to tease stuff like that just to be funny. But who knows, there's so much going on.

If it had no connection, I feel like they would've just kept it. If it was connected, though, they may have just put them up there too early (not meant to be hints beforehand, but rather easter eggs after)

Maybe they were a time based clue? Like, leave em up for a day or two, and then get rid of them to build hype.
