I mean....it's a pretty standard thing these days. Any website that makes you "click to the next section" for articles is just figuring out that you can get more ad-views by doing it that method. Instead of one page for a full article you get 5 pages and therefore 5 more clicks/ad-views. It's annoying but it's the way that websites and especially the ones who run on ads move forward. CoS is looking to make money and that's fine. That's like a majority of sites. I still don't like it and when I come across those sites I tend to add them to my "stop visiting" pile.
Another reason I miss Grantland. They never did that crap. But they also didn't make ESPN enough money to keep them going.
I will say between this, the LCD reunion news, Pearl Jam headlining roo, and whatever else they have glommed from reading my posts here; it has me questioning why I don't have a website/blog of my own. Might as well get paid right?
Because you get so worried about your sources being fired anytime any "news" leaks out.
Seriously though....you should follow Phyre Fest and his method to making money off Internet ads and views.

CoS had a 'view all' option for a long time to bypass that shit and they recently got rid of it. Now you have to click through all the pages.
They still do. And the majority of the time, they use it.
And they've decreased the amount of "multi-page" articles they run.

Eh, I'm not over here making loads of cash.
Let's just say, the total amount I made off ads in 2015, before taxes, equates to less than one paycheck from my dayjob.

What the heck, Parquet Courts is at Shaky Knees but not their hometown festival? This will be the 3rd year in a row I go to Gov Ball and never Parquet Courts, I don't get it.

I didn't look at Shaky Knees super in-depth, but it looks like there's a lot of Gov Ball 2015 on there. I will say that Huey Lewis being there, doing Sports, would be something I'd look forward to but I get you kids might not remember him or that album.

I seened the American Psycho, I'm pickin up what your putting down
I'm far more concerned with the business cards Huey Lewis carries, than his actual music.
Panorama is hitting Randall's Island on July 22-24
I know they moved the date back a few weeks but having it at the same venue seems like a hostile move. I hope Gov Ball survives in its current form over the next couple of years. While not perfect, the Founders folks seem to care a lot more about who the musicians playing the festival are than those at Goldenvoice these days.

Not really hostile. No place else they could have really held it and I'm sure they were sitting on a bunch of contracts they either had to pay for or try to get out of.
Any idea when we can expect a lineup from Panorama?

The only thing that bums me out about this is that it's probably gonna divide my friends up between gov and panorama. But in terms of the lineup, I have pretty low expectations. We know LCD will be there, and I'm assuming Mumford will be there. My guess is the rest is gonna be generic EDM names.
I'm buying a day ticket for whichever one Kanye plays, doesn't look like I can do the whole weekend. I'm realllly hoping he plays Sunday but I doubt it.

Last time he played Sunday. We'll see
I think he'll play Sunday again, just judging by Beck and the Strokes I doubt one of those bands closes it out. Going for Yeezy day is worth it though, hoping Bob Moses and FJM play Yeezy day too!

Though, isn't he promoting and all about G.O.O.D. Fridays? Maybe Friday?
Definitely going to do at least a day pass to this.
Let us know when you're hearing any word on info for late nights.

Haha great video. But VERY NSFW!
Also Goth I took your advice and checked out Bully last night, really digging them. And by some crazy coincidence I came in to work this morning and my co-worker gave me a vinyl copy of their album. I'll be spinning that tonight.
What are the chances Kanye plays on Sunday? Because I'm thinking about Pre showing Bonnaroo, but I'd have to be there on that Sunday. I have no problem going from Governors Ball straight to Bonnaroo, but that would fuck everything up if Kanye is the closer. I wish we knew the days already so I could start planning.

After seeing Bonnaroo's manure pile of a lineup, I'm most likely in for this. Big fan of the top two lines, and there's a fair amount of interesting/unique stuff on the undercard.

Live Nation strikes again. This was going to be the year I finally did Bonnaroo, but looks like it's going to be Gov. Ball, Shaky Knees, Osheaga and possibly Newport for me.

I, too, am bailing on Roo after realizing everyone I like on the lineup is playing in my backyard. For the cost of going to Tennesee, I can go to two fests in NYC. No brainer for me.
Also, I'm fully expecting that Mysteryland leak from yesterday to be real and there is no one other than LCD at Roo I'd rather see more than The Chemical Brothers. They alone are better than every electronic name at Roo combined.

Yeah, same here. I'm about a 4-5 hour drive from the city, as opposed to a 15-hour drive to Manchester (factoring in gas and food stops). Plus, one of my close friends and festival buddies lives in Queens, so I wouldn't need to pay for lodging.

The cost of Panorama and Govball combined will still be cheaper than going to Roo.....damn that didnt even occur to me! I'm gonna use that line when I try to convince my old Roo crew to do these two instead haha
