I'm guessing things will slow down based on Panorama's lineup drop. LCD fans will obviously be holding out for Panorama. Will Pan be bringing the cheese EDM and take all those fans away from Gov Ball?

I think you're overestimating how many people even know about Panorama, let alone are waiting for it for one artist who they have no particular reason to assume will be there.
Friday = The Strokes + Beck Saturday = The Killers Sunday = Kanye West
I'd assume both Strokes/Beck play on the mainstage, so the real question now is who is scheduled against them all.
I feel like Robyn opposite either Strokes/Beck makes a lot of sense, and DCFC would be a logical Kanye counter.
Not sure about the Killers though. Chet Faker or Jamie XX? Last two years they've had an EDM/dance act close on Saturday (deadmau5 & skrillex) so it makes sense, think it probably does well for single ticket sales.

Dear god if DCFC and Kanye play against each other I'll cry.

Who do you think would close out the mainstage, Beck or the Strokes? Im guessing the Strokes because although they didn't close out the mainstage in 2013, that crowd was so rabid for them it was crazy. The hometown love was pretty serious.
I know Beck is doing another festival that weekend, but it would be awesome if he added an acoustic show in the city earlier that week. "Morning Phase" was one of my favorite albums a few years ago and it would be great to hear those tunes as they really wouldn't work that well at a festival.

The Strokes for sure would be closing, that's not even a question. Theyre billed 2nd on the lineup!
Only reason why they didnt close in 2014 is because they werent even booked until like 2 days before the lineup was announced, the rest of the lineup was already finalized.
I'm still def getting a day pass for whichever day Kanye plays, should be great.
FYI the fest is actually selling tickets better this year than in the past.
I was actually going to ask you about this. I can't tell you how many people have messaged me about this lineup, wasn't sure if it was just because I don't shut up about Kanye or what
Keeping this in my radar along with Wayhome, Osheaga, and Panorama. (And Bonnaroo if I can get a ticket for similar prices)
Must See 2018 List: 1. Drake 2. The Cure 3. David Byrne 4. King Krule 5. Moses Sumney 6. Dua Lipa 7. Mount Kimbie 8. Perfume Genius 9. Yaeji 10. Big Thief
I wonder how much (if any) of the Primavera lineup was close to play Governors Ball
Quite possibly the greatest lineup release video in history. Outside of LCD not a ton that I could see Gov. Ball going after, since I don't think Radiohead was ever in the picture and Tame Impala played last year. Great lineup from Primavera as usual, just not much I could see that would fit Gov. Ball's style (which is a relief because nothing is worse than seeing what a lineup could have been).

I would like to think Parquet Courts would fit, since I've personally wanted them at Gov Ball and in their AMA last year they said PC turned down a chance to be at GB 2015 due to being in the studio.
Welp, primavera just made going to Gov Ball that much less likely
???
I mean, if you were debating between Gov Ball and Primavera, then I think you should probably plan on heading to Barcelona regardless of lineup...I don't even know why this is a question if you're considering both.

It's a lot easier to talk yourself into going to NYC over paying $700 for a ticket to Spain

I went to Barcelona last summer, was going to try somewhere new in Europe. That lineup is very, very tempting. It'll be a huge disappointment if Panorama doesn't have Radiohead now.
