I made a mock Kanye set list because I got really bored at work. I left off some Life of Pablo songs I really like because they had too many features and I don't know how they would work live.

Obviously a lot of these songs wouldn't be performed in their entirety
this would be sick but i don't see him ending with no more parties in LA. also throw ultra light beams on there.
Yeah that was just a personal preference. I don't think he'd perform it at all. But it's my favorite song on the album and I just imagined him ending with it and then throwing the mic and yelling in typical Kanye fashion. Also Ultra Light Beams is one of those songs with too many features, but it could work as outro/intro music.
Is it weird that I'm not enjoying this album? I am such a huge Kanye fan for both his music and everything he represents. I've loved everything he's worked on so far so much. What am I missing with this one?
nothing it's extremely overrated right now. I don't see this album having lasting power outside 4/5 tracks. It's great, but it's not the album of the life

Agreed. There are a few great tracks here, a few "meh" tracks and then a lot of trash. It's a shame, this lackluster album along with Kanye's more recent annoying behavior has made me really lose interest in his set now. Still want to see him, but if a good act is scheduled opposing him I won't feel so bad skipping Ye.

Curious what parts of the album you thought were trash. Lyrically it's certainly not his best album but with the top notch production and slick beats I couldn't see myself describing any of it as trash.

I'd consider Low Lights, Highlights, Freestyle 4, Old Kanye, Silver Surfer, and Facts all trash. In fact I already took most of them out of my iTunes.
But there are also a lot of songs that started off with potential and then just fell flat. Specifically Father Stretch My Hands, Fade and Wolves. Father and Wolves really suffer from terrible lyrics, and Fade sounds like he came up with a great 30 seconds of music and then decided to just loop it. But man when lyrics like "people like to take advantage/you left your fridge open so I took a sandwich" just ruin these songs for me.
I was a huge fan of Yeezus, and I'm beginning to notice a lot of people who didn't enjoy that album are really digging this one, so I guess Kanye really snagged his target audience.

I agree with your criticisms on the lyrics at times but I guess I wouldn't be so quick to classify it as trash. And tracks like Old Kanye and Silver surfer are more like skits in my eyes. The beat on Facts improves the track drastically but unfortunately the changes made to Wolves are for the worse. Definitely wish there was more to fade. I loved Yeezus and I'm really liking this so far, after about 3 listens. I'll come back to it over the weekend and get some more listens.
I'm thinking M83, Two Door Cinema Club and Courtney Barnett will be your after show artists among others.
It's looking like M83 will play opposed to the Killers so I'll be happy if we get an after party from them.
Thinking the same BUT the afterparty would have to start at like 1am. Also, M83 could play one of those Gov Ball Presents underplays before the festival like Bloc Party and Miike Snow are scheduled to do.
I just noticed Kanye's song Famous has the same flow and pattern of Dark Fantasy. That wouldn't be a bad song to start off with. Maybe he can fly in on a crane and everything.

What's the best way to get to Randalls from Penn Station? I just booked my Amtrak which gets in at 6. I'm hoping to catch at least the tail end of Beck. I'm thinking the Ferries, but I read it's been a shit show every year.

I'd guess E to 6 and hike it from 125th

If the schedule this year follows the trend, Beck will be playing from 7pm-8pm. If you're getting to Penn at 6 I think you'll probably be able to catch almost all of his set. Maybe miss the first song or two depending on how fast the security line is.

Kanye and DCFC will be opposing each other, but sounds like DCFC will start earlier and Kanye will end later. Decent trade off as I'd like to see both.
