Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Indeed. And I like that . A lot of the other fest boards have people who go to multiple fests and kind of talk about bookings, billing, etc from all over while this board is pretty Newport specific. I think it's a good thing. I come in here for Newport news, but a lot of people here are locals or only go to Newport and don't know or care about Sia, Robyn, Disclosure, Young Fathers or Boston Calling for that matter.
...but this is a Bonnaroo board. This is just the Newport thread.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Just discovered this glorious thread! Been going to Newport folk 3 years running.
Waiting for lineup announcements got me like...
Welcome! What were some of your favorite sets of the last couple years? and who are you hoping for this year?
Oh wow, favorite sets from last year would be the Barr Brothers, from a few years ago Blake Mills with Dawes. This year, I'm hoping Gary Clark Jr can play and would LOVE to see Tom Waits. Thanks for askin!

Welcome Julie. Are you a local or travel in for the fest? We have lots of both here in our little NFF corner of the world.

Hey Fawnmart! I'm a traveler ("on this eartthhhh" - sorry can't say Traveler without singing Chris Stapelton). I'm from Miami (originally from North Adams, MA). So excited to find such a vibrant community of folk fans.
Oh my my my.... I MUST hear more of this lady! Amy whinehouse, Adele, zz ward, channeling some Joplin... Was hooked and then came the freakish 3 octave run...

I'm worried that I am going to be missing out on Sunday. For those who missed it- I have a conference to attend in Kansas City immediately following the fest. There are activities on Sunday and a Monday breakfast that I could miss, but the first session starts at 9:00 AM that I should really be there for.
If I fly to KC Monday morning, the earliest I can get there would be 9:15 AM and I would miss all of the first session of my conference by the time I got there and checked in... The latest I can get out Sunday would be a 6:40 flight from PVD. The time I would need to leave the fest and give myself the appropriate time at the airport... 3:30-4:00? Probably would be worth it to skip Sunday altogether. The upside of that is that I would be able to park at Bradley rather than have to drive back from Providence Wednesday night (and I would gain an open bar/app reception on Sunday and get another night to see the city). But I want Sunday at the fest. This job is already keeping me from Bonnaroo.

If I were you, I wouldn't go Sunday. I'd leave RI on Sunday morning and drive back to CT, fly out from BDL (unless it was significantly cheaper to do PVD). If you have to be in Kansas City on Monday morning, it's not worth trying to pull off both because it's almost certain you miss one.

Luckily when it's a business trip, I don't have to worry too much about cost. I would only do PVD if it allowed me Sunday at NFF, but yeah- I will most likely be missing Sunday.

Looks like you can make DMB at the Meadows though, for a consolation prize.

I might do Great Woods (Mansfield)
Nope. Last year I worked 7:15 Saturday morning through 12:30 AM Saturday night/Sunday morning on that day. No Dave for me, again. PS. Only one day!??!?!? Since when? And I'll have to work Friday night too- so no Mansfield. Maybe I can try to make SPAC...
