Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Let me say, I love coming to this thread and seeing how nice everyone is. My wife and I are so excited to come to NFF for the first time this year, and we'd love to meet some of your smiling faces! (And we'll be at Mountain Jam, too, if any of you guys are going there)
I will be at Mountain Jam (one of my favorite little fests!!) and planning on going to NFF if I can get some resale tickets (so far no one is selling )

How is Mountain Jam? I'm really considering going this year for the first time!
Also, I'm loving the Ray LaMontagne announcement, but I only have a Saturday single day pass...Boo

I love Mountain Jam. It is small. They only have 1 main stage and a small stage right next to the main stage that they play some smaller acts on earlier in the day. it is located at the base of mountain so there is a lot of walking up hill -- but it makes it kinda neat because you can claim some space with a large blanket up the hill and relax and dance have your space or you can get down near the front very easily. It's a very chill fest. I haven't camped there yet since I have a place nearby - but I know that the regular camping is on the side of the mountain so you can be on a bit of a hill (thats the one you don't really have to pay for). Some people complain that security getting in sucks but I volunteered one year at toll booths and its the norm - if you are trying to bring a ton of not so great stuff in with you they will catch you. Otherwise -- once inside super super chill. They have a decent array of food for a small fest and they have some great art vendors.
I am a big advocate of Mountain Jam (in case you can't tell!) I also really love the line up this year! I also think it will fill the gap a little bit of having to miss Gathering of the Vibes this year since they are skipping 2016.

I wonder if a certain producer shows up to jam for me
I remember seeing a rumor that MMJ would actually be Ray's touring band, and it seemed way out of left field. A few week later info came out that Jim was producing the record, so I guess there's actually a very slight chance something like that could happen.
If something like that happens and it's on Sunday- it looks like I'll be missing that flight.
There is a SW flight that leaves Boston on Monday at 5:50am and lands in KC at 8:15am, just saying
Ohhhhh I think I missed that because the 9:15 is listed before the 8:15. Do you think I could swing it? I think the conferences site says it's 22 miles from the airport (and they recommend a taxi).

I was thinking Pre-HL until I checked out his Spotify "Monthly Listeners". He's got more listeners than MMJ, Jackson Browne, OCMS, Avetts, Mavis, Decemberists, Jack White (though not WS) and Roger Waters (though not Floyd). I didn't think he was that big. So, I guess he could headline. I'm okay with that.
He announced a tour today as well. The Arcs are opening. Sure, it's his "lesser" band, but that's Dan Auerbach opening for Ray so I would say a decent shot at headlining Friday. Pre-headliner and I may have to pick up some Friday tix for the family.
I could see them moving to give Friday big headliners so it's not thought of as lesser. I mean Roger Waters was Friday last year.
Didn't catch that the Arcs were opening, might have to try to get into his Brooklyn show.
Ray's great live though. First saw him at Life is Good Fest in 2011 and didn't know him super well but he was fantastic. That was when he had the Pariah Dogs too, who killed it. He also sang The Weight with Levon Helm during the latter's set. Then saw him when he toured Supernova two years ago (with Belle Brigade opening and serving as part of his band, and Jason Isbell also opening) and while I wasn't a huge fan of the album but a lot of the same sounded much better live. And he did a mini acoustic set in the middle of some of his bigger songs.
Really happy with this, and a really solid first announcement. Just wish I'd put him on my bingo card!

Where did you see that they're opening? It's billed as "An Evening With Ray LaMontagne" which tends to imply no opening act. And I can't find any mention of the Arcs.

Oh I just saw The Arcs were billed as opening my local show in Canandaigua, NY so I figured they were on the whole tour.

Hello all! I've been lurking in this thread for a while now but decided today was the day to officially join. I've never been to Bonnaroo but my girlfriend and I have attended Newport Folk Festival every year since 2013 and are again looking forward to attending the festival this year.
Upcoming Shows: August 7: Green Day/Smashing Pumpkins/Rancid/The Linda Lindas August 30: Waxahatchee/Snail Mail/Tim Heidecker September 17: Pearl Jam/Glen Hansard September 24: Idles/English Teacher
They did it with Mavis Staples didn't they? But they also announced her as a headliner for her birthday, from the start. I just think that they will get someone bigger, I don't think he's big enough
I've finally settled on Cat Stevens as my most favorite long shot.
(It's okay Munchkins (newbies) you can come out now. It's safe here in NFF land. )
I have a very long wish list but at the top would be Joanna Newsom, Chadwick Stokes and Terry Reid. As for long shots, I'd really like to see Paul Simon or Eddie Vedder solo/acoustic.
