So this will be my first NFF, I'm wondering what the stages and layout is like? I'm looking at pictures and it looks pretty tiny...how far between stages and stuff? Feel free to share any info you think would benefit a first timer.
Compared to other festivals, it is pretty tiny. The venue is an old fort. The main stage is outside of the fort against an outer wall facing the water. There is a pier with a small kids stage back there. The Quad stage is in the inside "quad" area of the fort. So basically, you just walk half way around the fort and go inside or out to get between the two main stages. The Museum Stage and Harbor Tent are on the walk between to two main stages with the Museum Stage being inside and the Harbor Tent being a small tent by the entrance area.
I heart kurt vile and he was totally worth having no sleep tonight. J mascis wasn't really a surprise but awesome to see both on stage together
You went to Pearl Street? I was supposed to go to College Street the other night but got tired and grumpy and didn't go. I couldn't go last night because I had tickets to a cooking class thing. Now I am mad at myself for not making either.

AH! This stresses me out. I didn't buy tickets on the day off because it went on sale crazy early and I was poor before christmas. I'm hoping that as the month goes on people might start to sell some tickets on the official ticket exchange site! Tickets on stubhub are still so much more than face value!

I understand that, I was referring to Paul Simon playing in Boston the day before Philadelphia. My guess would be that Paul Simon is out because he's playing in Boston a month before the festival.
NFF is sold out, so a radius clause doesn't have much of an effect at this point.
That's not how a radius clause works though. Coachella sells out every year the day tickets go on sale, that doesn't mean the radius clauses for their performers are null and void.
Anything's possible with unannounced sets. James Taylor played Fenway and also did his set and My Morning Jacket played Boston Calling and then did a set. So I'd say it's less likely but not completely off the table.
