She has such an amazing voice. I saw her open up for a local band last year at this tiny theatre in the middle of nowhere. After a few songs she started singing from the edge of the stage without any mics. It was one of the most beautiful things I've every heard.

Yea, the problem is it's not set in stone (even though I was told the July date WAS set in stone) so now I have the added annoyance of maybe getting my hopes up for nothing. I just really hate plans changing after being told multiple times that it's good to go. I'm going to have to wait and see but it's one of those "Really? Now you're telling me?" type of annoying moments.
What do you think the chances of Andrew Bird being at Newport this year are? I saw him last night at HOB here and loved him but hated the audience. I can't understand the need people have to talk loudly through such an incredible performance! I love how people respect the music and artists so much at Newport. It's kind of spoiled me for concerts anywhere else.

I like the possibility. New album, and he's played he fest before.
Just saw Buddy Guy in Providence last night. That guy still puts on one hell of a show!

Sunday night + Couchella weekend is a hard sell though
It was unreal!
He played a wireless guitar as he walked and played throughout the crowd. He even went to the lobby of Lupos and played out there for a couple minutes until he made his way back to stage
Chris Stapleton just announced 7/22 in NH. He better come now! I'd hate to miss him!
He is also at CMAC upstate the 21st where Ray LaMontagne, The Arcs, and Dawes (Middle Brother) all play Newport weekend. It seems to be in the routing cards.
