This is the "folkiest" song off of the new album, and might be my favorite (of course). However, the lyrics are pretty cringeworthy (although, they're more enjoyable if you can actually picture your furball singing this to you).

Did anyone else go to Father John Misty's House of Blues show last night? He fucking brings it every time
Also, I know other people here have mentioned Arcade Fire before but the thought occurred to me in relation to Pres. Hall because the pair have supposedly been working together for AF's new album. With them at Panorama, I don't think it's out of the question for them to also play Newport, definitely far from likely, and Pres. Hall have their on connection to Newport, so their presence obviously doesn't point decidedly to AF, but it would be a pretty cool get

Well I was originally thinking we would get Eddie Vedder as Sunday's headliner and seeing a picture of Jay Sweet backstage for Pearl Jam in New Orleans on Instagram today really had me thinking it was likely. Unfortunately he just stated that its's not happening this year but he's still trying (Then again that could have been in reference to Pearl Jam and not Eddie Vedder solo).
If it isn't going to be Vedder then I'll jump on the Arcade Fire train. Their live show is fantastic... probably the best arena show I've ever seen.
Upcoming Shows: August 7: Green Day/Smashing Pumpkins/Rancid/The Linda Lindas August 30: Waxahatchee/Snail Mail/Tim Heidecker September 17: Pearl Jam/Glen Hansard September 24: Idles/English Teacher

Yeah I saw that earlier too. Was thinking the same. But who knows.

I saw Bear's Den play the Teva stage last year at Roo on Thursday. It was really great. They ended up playing a few songs in the middle of the crowd. It was pretty cool to just be sitting there decorating our Roo Tevas and then here comes a great band. My sister is a huge fan and she really enjoyed it.
And plays bass for Hiss Golden Messenger. That's a cool addition! Do we think that's a normal stage show, since they didn't mention Museum or anything?

It's listed under Hansard on the website. Seems like a regular stage set.

I'm beginning to wonder if the headliners are huge names this year. I love the festival, but this years lineup is a little underwhelming so far, and as previously reported, I cannot imagine that Flight of the Conchords is the Friday headliner. I have about 10-12 bands/artists that I'll definitely be seeing. 6 more weeks of announcements, so I am excited to see what happens!

I know that's a nice thought and we trust jay to do the best possible job but so much of it comes down to availability. So if we don't get any huge names it's not really his own fault. Fortunately we're spoiled so some years won't be as spectacular.

I'm hoping the return of Amelia Meath also means an addition of Sylvan Esso... or more likely, Mountain Man... who could also join in on the Middle Brother set.

Ready to join the discussion and bring in my two cents.. feels like any day now we will get the Jane Pickens announcements. This could be the year for Paul Simon, with the new album I could see him finally taking the pay cut after Roger Waters raised the bar in terms of prestige acts especially with the positive press. Also could be the perfect platform for Bon Iver or Justin Vernon in some context, with another frequent collaborator Phil Cook being tossed into the mix. I also agree about Arcade Fire, although they aren't really promoting anything right now are they? Could be a good jumping off point to return to the studio though. I think this year they're really going to shock us with the headliners, especially after the past two years Jack White and then Roger Waters. The fact that we're not seeing any big names and the undercard is filled out pretty well supports that idea too, since Jay wouldn't want any of these smaller acts to be overshadowed and everyone to have their time.. we will see!

I also think this makes sense, considering the fact that they seem very concerned with the resale of tickets this year. They Created that secondary market where you can sell tickets to the festival. I think their is a reason why they are concerned about the resale of tickets, and they will wait until the last minute , or unannounced for these headliners.
Thoughts:
Cat Stevens ( cancelled NY shows a couple years ago , due to scalping )
