I was more asking because I want to appreciate his music more, it just doesn't connect with me as much at the moment.
I would listen to "Still Crazy After All These Years", also on YouTube the story behind Graceland is inspiring.. the stories he tells in his songs, the lyrics, singing voice, guitar style. I am personally a huge fan of how his chord progressions and song structure sound simple but are actually quite complex when you break it down. When it comes to Graceland incorporating the world music into his own style was groundbreaking.

I'm hoping for some surpirse announcements. Solid lineup. Saturday is insane, but the headliners are "ehh" for me, especially FOTC. I keep trying to get into their stuff, but it's not doing it for me.

See I generally think not much solo Paul Simon sounds simple, and that may be a lot of my problem. Just too much going on for me

I totally love FOTC and cannot wait to see them, but I think we'll get a surprise closer Friday.

I'm very happy with the lineup, although I'm only going to the Friday show. There's a lot of talent throughout, I'm just hoping there aren't some bad scheduling conflicts on the horizon - but with how stacked the lineup is, I can definitely see that happening. I'm sure they'll be surprises of some kind

Well, I think we have a pretty great lineup. Not super strong at the top for me, especially compared to last year (not much could have beat last year at the top) but the bottom and mid are very, very good.
I feel like they went more for "Interesting" than "Big" this year and put together a really good lineup that's also probably one of their most unique and one of the festival season's most unique ones this year. I still have to imagine that we'll get someone else unannounced on Friday, juast because FotC are at the top. I don't see them headlining just based on their kind of niche appeal. If they or Ray are headlining though, I'll have no problems with that!
This was tough but I think this is my top 10 (11) of the fest, from the top down: Flight of the Conchords Patti Smith Ray Lamongtagne Ryan Adams Middle Brother Father John Misty/Glen Hansard Phil Cook Margo Price Songhoy Blues Lady Lamb
Also, it's worth noting that they have not announced a 2nd museum act. They also said in a post earlier this year that they will be doing the Converse Rubber Tracks again as well.

Any unannounced performers would just be the cherry on top... We currently have 54 sets scheduled among the 3 main stages. Last year we had 55 and in 2014 52 from what I can see... I don't remember if there were any unannounced sets that year. This could very well be the full lineup which would be fine by me... Although I'd rather get my hands on some Friday tickets and give away my Saturday tickets with the lineup in its current state.
My top 10 most anticipated sets: 1. Alabama Shakes (Never seen them, been getting into them a lot lately) 2. Middle Brother (Obviously) 3. Edward Sharpe (Only heard three songs from the new album but loved them all) 4. Graham Nash (Never seen anybody live who performed at Woodstock) 5. Son Little (Listened to a lot of him when he was announced) 6. Father John Misty (Wasn't that big a fan of the new album but Fear Fun is one of my all time favorites just as his 2013 Newport set is one of my all time favorites) 7. Nathaniel Rateliff (My favorite set last year although I prefer Nathaniel solo) 8. Phil Cook (This has the potential to be my favorite set of the year... So much positive energy in these songs) 9. Banditos (Their music reminds me of Deer Tick, Houndmouth, and J. Roddy... There's no way this won't be one of my favorite sets of the year) 10. Preservation Hall Jazz Band (That's It!)
Upcoming Shows: August 7: Green Day/Smashing Pumpkins/Rancid/The Linda Lindas August 30: Waxahatchee/Snail Mail/Tim Heidecker September 17: Pearl Jam/Glen Hansard September 24: Idles/English Teacher

M-Thursday announcements all week without a Friday announcement would seem weird.. but then again Jay seems to enjoy trolling the "Folk". We still haven't gotten Jane Pickens Announcements... and I think we are definitely in for more "unannounced" acts this year.
Middle Brother (Been waiting for this one for 4 years) Ray Lamontagne (80% of MMJ behind a great singer touring a great album) Ryan Adams (Seriously play Wharf Rat) Del and Dawg (Del is always great and I've never seen Grisman) TBT Daves (Hopefully an oppurtunity to here the soft TBT songs they rarely play live) John Moreland (his album is really great and I missed him earlier this year thanks to school) MLV (fun SK set) Pres Hall (always a great fun set) Rateliff (loved them at the blues cafe last year, cant wait to see more) St Paul (maybe my second favorite set at SK)
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Side note, I'm starting to get the point where I'm going to be priced out of Bonnaroo eventually, but the sustained quality of this festival makes me a little less sad that this may be my only festival I attend all of going forward. Never left a Newport in 4 year any less than ecstatic.

If I was attending and had to narrow it down to 10 most anticipated sets I think I would pick
Ryan Adams, Infamous Stringdusters, Nicki Bluhm Patti Smith Ray LaMontagne Alabama Shakes The Arcs Father John Misty Middle Brother Case/Lange/Veirs Phil Cook Southland Revue Lady Lamb/Margo Price
I'd also be excited for the possibilities to see Elvis Costello, Freakwater, Basia Bulat, and Raury, among many others. Every year when I look at the finalized schedule for this, every hour of every day would be conflicted for me.
You guys are sleeping on Violent Femmes in these lists
I wouldn't be surprised to see Matthew Vasquez show up to this set. Or Gordon Gano showing up for Matt's set.
When Delta Spirit were still really new (possibly when they only had the one major album out) I saw them in a tiny venue in NYC with Gordon Gano opening for them. Got to talk to Matt before hand as he was excited and wanted to watch Gano's set. He considered it such a big deal to have him opening and I imagine they got along pretty well.
It was also cute seeing Vasquez be so giddy over having his work on a vinyl LP. He said he wished it was heavier but just exciting to have it made.

Speaking of bingo cards...
AS OF NOW no full lines have been made, but cgs299 and myself tied for most 'stamps'. I'll give the win to cgs though, since he was closer to making a full line. Obviously this is the rough results, as a few acts here could still show up. For now though, here's the power rankings. (Also, the circles that aren't filled in for St. Paul and Nathaniel Rateliff are because they were confirmed ahead of time, so it's not really fair to have them in there.)
