Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

hey ya'll!! - since we are so close and I now officially have a ticket thanks to an AMZAING inforooer here!
Do ya'll have any tips or tricks or things a first time NFF attendee must know?
I've never been and am mostly curious about how big or small the space is and generally how long it takes to get from say one end to the other.
But really any insider tips are SO appreciated. I do mostly camping fests and have a ton of experience there - but driving in and leaving everyday is SO new to me!
also I know they allow small backed chairs --- are these like those low lying beach chairs - or do those fold up camp chairs count (you know the ones you get from sports authority) -- every venue I've ever been to has a different definition of "low backed"!

Looking forward to it!
It isn't that big of an area. You can get from the Fort to the Quad stages in under five minutes, most of the time. If there's a big crowd at Harbor, it may take another couple minutes to push through that.
The bigger the chair, the further away from the stage you should be. No chairs front and center at Fort stage. They have chairs set up under the tents at Quad and Harbor.

A couple things for you:
- I believe they mean the low lying beach chairs, if it's a bigger one, just place it further away from the stage for courtesy's sake - Pretty quick to get from stage to stage, maybe 5 mins from the Fort to the Quad unless there's a traffic jam, and the Harbor is right in between them. - Bring a cooler and a blanket and set up a spot at the beginning of the day so you have a sort of home base to return to. It fills up pretty quickly, so I'd recommend getting there on the earlier side of things. - Both the Quad and Harbor stages are seated under the tents, and only about half the seats are likely to empty out after a set, so if you want a great spot for those stages you've gotta be quick. But you can easily see the sets and enjoy them from the outskirts of the tents. The Fort Stage has an open pit up front, sometimes it fills up, but I've almost never had any trouble getting in there
Hope you enjoy the fest! Who are you looking forward to seeing?

Expect a beautiful, beautiful time. Oh, and rain. It always downpours for at least 20 minutes of one of the days, and your options of shelter are close to none.
BUT....sometimes these downpours can create magical moments, a la MMJ 2012 and Roger Waters 2015

Can we go one year where it doesn't rain those three days?
Hello everyone, long time reader however I typically don't post. I was just curious if anyone has used the new fan-to-fan resale ticket option? A friend of mine currently has an extra 3 day pass that he is trying to sell however it's not allowing him to do so. He's been on the phone with ticketmaster multiple times which has been no help. Any suggestions? or looking to buy a 3 day pass? Also looks like I will have one extra ticket for the Friday and Saturday night Jane Pickens theatre shows if anyone is interested?

I poked a stick at it but being in IT and knowing what can go wrong, did not want to chance trying to release 1 of my 4 tickets. did a private even exchange instead. Yesterday it crossed my mind that they may not allow the release through F2F now that tickets can be printed or transferred to phones. There would have to be tight controls to prevent printing a copy then releasing it..

That makes sense, I honestly didn't even think about it. Kind of sucks though.
If all goes well we will have an ez up for much needed shade (and downpour blocking) in the back of the quad and the fort stage with a little embellishment on the canvas.

Y'all were camped right beside my parents one of the days last year. I remember doing some significant spying. I'm pretty sure I walked right past the group photo too.

We know there's storms forecast Monday and Tuesday this week. Wednesday and Thursday are supposed to be nice. Friday it will get warmer as high pressure moves off the coast and southwest winds bring warm and sticky weather in. It'll be more noticeable on Saturday, and also increasing a chance of pop-up storms. Highest chance for storms is on Sunday, as of now. Next major system may not push through until Monday or Tuesday (25th-26th) though.

Long overdue, but a big thanks to fawnmart, LD, and quacker for your recommendations about last minute, affordable accommodations. I appreciate the responses. Beyond excited for next weekend!
What is the food and drink situation like inside the festival? What are prices like?
There are many (maybe 20-30? - don't know never counted them) food trucks/food booths with a wide variety of options - bbq, burgers, dogs, Asian food, sea food, roasted nuts, grilled pizza, sweet treats, etc. Most items are probably about 7-10 bucks for something filling. Lots of Del's stands, ice cream stands all over. Beer/wine/cider are usually 7-8 bucks paid for by drink tix that you buy ahead of time. You need to drink your beer/wine/cider in the areas you buy them (beer pier at the Fort Stage or beer garden at the Quad Stage) but you can listen to acts from the drinking areas and view the big screens from there too. You can also bring in food and drinks (non-alcoholic factory sealed) but only small coolers (12 x 16) are allowed so obviously that limits how much you can satisfy your thirst/hunger for the day with what you bring in.
I've always managed to sneak in a few beers each day. Tend to hide them in our bag with blankets and stuff. I'll recommend Narragansett's Del's Shandy if you're going that route. Local, cheap, and refreshing.
