Ah I was unaware that they subbed last year. I could see them headlining the smaller of the two main stages possibly. (sorry I don't know the names of any of the stages, I've never been to Lolla)
I like Tame Impala, I just don't think they're bigger than a sub at Lolla.
I don't either. But they cracked the top 8 at Roo this year. Then again Roo is a hot pile of shit for the most part, so yeah.

I would be shocked if Tame Impala aren't headliner(s) by their/his next album cycle. Assuming (t)he(y) can release something as great (or better????) as Currents of course.

With the exception of most likely LCD on thurs, I'm expecting Thurs to be crammed with crap like Halsey. I'm just going to do my best to find the gems that day.

Why?
The time of Lolla (most bands are over in the states) makes a ton of bands available. It's not hard for Lolla to fill another day with bands like the other three. This mentality confuses me.

There's always acts like Halsey, and I've been going to Lolla 4 years in a row, but I do think this extra day(with the exception of LCD, and maybe some acts that harp back to old Lolla days), this day may be filled with acts like Halsey. I'm not guaranteeing it lol. I just feel like with Halsey's tour dates, New Politics, 1975's, and others. Thurs could be for the younger crowd for the most part.
Coldplay just announced their US tour, safe to say they won't be at Lolla.
Saturday, July 16 NEW YORK, NY MetLife Stadium Saturday, July 23 CHICAGO, IL Soldier Field Saturday, July 30 BOSTON, MA Gillette Stadium Saturday, August 6 PHILADELPHIA, PA Lincoln Financial Field Saturday, August 20 LOS ANGELES, CA Rose Bowl Saturday, August 27 DALLAS, TX AT&T Stadium Saturday, September 3 SAN FRANCISCO, CA Levi’s Stadium
I would love to see The Last Shadow Puppets in the undercard. I could see them being one of those acts that only Coachella ends up getting and will make me envy everyone living on the west coast though.
Naw, but I'm a trusting type of gal, maybe shouldn't be
Damn, yeah, I'm remaining skeptical then. If they really got Radiohead, arcade, LCD, and beck, I'm going. Hell, I'll even get drunk and sing along at GnR if they don't conflict with a good electronic act
Here's a list of bands I'm predicting will be in the undercard in no particular order...
7. Death Cab For Cutie 8. M83 9. Cage the Elephant 10. Two Door Cinema Club 11. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds 12. Disclosure 13. The 1975 14. Chance the Rapper 15. Miike Snow 16. The Pixies 17. I'm going to give up on another headliner trumping Radiohead for that top spot. Radiohead isn't being billed below any one at any other fest they're playing so far, they're a rare get when they do tour, and they've been around 20 plus years.
Bud Light: Macklemore and Ryan Lewis-Sia-Disclosure-Chemical Brothers
There's still currently no Chicago date for Tool, and this could be one of those surprises no one saw coming. Until I see a Chicago date pop up, I see this as a strong possibility.
I just have a gut feeling that Lolla is going to get rarer electronic act such as Chemical brothers or Prodigy. I'm going with Chemical Brothers, because in 2012 Justice played Nos Alive and also played Lolla. There's usually good crossover with this fest too. Plus Radiohead and LCD are coming to Lolla, and are both playing Nos Alive. Just hope they play against The Strokes.

I doubt we get Tool at Lolla this year for several reasons. First, Tool didn't play Chicago the last time they toured 2-3 years ago. It was similar to this year's tour; they played a string of shows without effort to play the entire country. Second, I was under the impression that this tour was done in an effort to generate some cash for finishing their next album. I assume that means they are gonna hit the studio once they have completed this brief tour.
The Chemical Brothers and Prodigy are both awesome! However, they don't necessarily appeal to Lolla's target demographic (high school and college aged kids). Expect something lame like Jack U.
