Is Lana del Rey actually good? I'm legitimately asking because all I've heard of her is her singles and I can't get into any of them.
I think you have to be in particular emotional place when you listen to her. Individually, none of her songs really stand out or blow me away necessarily. However, if you put on one of her albums after a real sad day, or heartbreak, or are just like damn.....life, what am I even doing, life sure is confusing......it's very comforting.

Lana may headline a night, but it sure as shit won't be on Samsung. Bud Light at best. And yeah I know Florence headlined, but I think since she's more rock oriented, and her songs are more alt heavy, they appeal to the masses. Lana has a huge fan base, but her outright headlining Samsung on a Friday, Sat, or Sun....I just don't see it only 3 years after she was a grove closer.

Lana did headline opposite The Black Keys at GovBall last year with an equally big crowd. Not sure what the capacity of Samsung Stage vs. Bud Light Stage is, but she could easily pull 25,000+ at a festival.

See she headlined against Black keys, so she would headline against another rock act like Black Keys, let's just say The strokes and be put on Bud Light. Bud Light had Sam Smith, The Weeknd, and Bassnectar: I think we can consider Lana as a Bud Light act. Samsung fills double Bud Light.
I'll preface this post by saying that I never take random posters claiming to have inside information seriously. However, there's someone on the Lollapalooza subreddit who was correct last year about Metallica and Paul McCartney before they were announced and he called LCD Soundsystem and Radiohead back in November. He posted a small list of acts that's he's confirming.
"Miike Snow, Major Lazer, Disclosure, Ellie Goulding, Lana Del Rey, J. Cole, Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem, Kanye West, ASAP Ferg, and Vince Staples."
Obviously take this with a huge grain of salt and I wouldn't be surprised at all if his list is completely wrong but I thought it might be worth mentioning.

Thurs: LCD vs J. Cole(BL)
Friday: Radiohead vs Major Lazer(BL) (which is kinda rediculous, since they were a Perry's pre-headliner last time).
Saturday: Lana vs Disclosure(BL) (neither could fill Samsung) so this is quite disturbing.
