Ellie Goulding seems more likely than Lana to close the South stage. Possibly fewer "fans" (although I wouldn't bet on it) but a bigger, more casually appealing catalog that could end end up being a bigger draw.
I'll preface this post by saying that I never take random posters claiming to have inside information seriously. However, there's someone on the Lollapalooza subreddit who was correct last year about Metallica and Paul McCartney before they were announced and he called LCD Soundsystem and Radiohead back in November. He posted a small list of acts that's he's confirming.
"Miike Snow, Major Lazer, Disclosure, Ellie Goulding, Lana Del Rey, J. Cole, Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem, Kanye West, ASAP Ferg, and Vince Staples."
Obviously take this with a huge grain of salt and I wouldn't be surprised at all if his list is completely wrong but I thought it might be worth mentioning.
If this is true
Thurs: LCD vs J. Cole(BL)
Friday: Radiohead vs Major Lazer(BL) (which is kinda rediculous, since they were a Perry's pre-headliner last time).
Saturday: Lana vs Disclosure(BL) (neither could fill Samsung) so this is quite disturbing.
Sunday: Kanye West vs Ellie Goulding(BL)
They wouldn't have the weakest headliners on Saturday.
I always get tripped up when people use "Samsung" and "Bud Light" as descriptors. Do you guys call the Rose Bowl game "the Rose Bowl presented by Northwesten Mutual"? Srs question.

Do you use another name to refer to the TaxSlayer Bowl? srs question /s

It's still the Gator Bowl to me, but that's not a bad answer. Well done.
Now he's gotta be off somehow. So thurs is turning out to be as I expected, a day full of mainstream crap such as Halsey and company. Grove will be my best friend that night, or a good aftershow.

Radiohead, Kanye, and LCD would just be ridiculous. For those who have been going to this fest for a while how much has it changed over the years? I had so much fun at Lollapalooza 2010 and I've been looking for an excuse to go back ever since.
Most people here are pretty negative about the festival, but as long as you stay away from Perrys and acts like Kid Cudi, the crowds are great and the festival is pretty much the exact same lay out.

Can't argue with those 3, I would be at Samsung all weekend. Already planning on camping for Radiohead from 2:30 ish until showtime, not trying to get barricade after what I witnessed at SOAD at Riot...Yeesh. A couple rows back from the barricade would be ideal for me.

My only negative would be all the sponsorship, I wish they would call Pepsi stage back to Grove. Sprint back to Lake Shore. Just say North and South stage, instead of Samsung vs Bud Light lol. Other than that Lolla doesn't have any gripes with me. I love the layout, the crowds, the food, and the merch better than Roo, Firefly, and Riot(the other fests I've attended).

I can't see Kanye/JCole/Ellie/Lana/Disclosure/Major Lazer taking up 6 of the top 8 spots for the 25th anniversary. Not many Festivals make it to 25 years so I'd think they would really promote that fact.
That means no act would span the life of Lollapalooza or really highlight the Festivals roots...except for Radiohead a bit.

It is pretty similar. They've added more space since then so it is not as difficult to walk through the grounds, but other than that, I can't think of much that has changed.

It's changed quite a bit since then. The 75,000 sloppy drunk, puking high school bros that make the festival an unbearable shithole only had iPhone 4s back in 2010. Now they have iPhone 6s.
