If something's exaggerated, by definition it's also kinda true.
All in all Lolla's fine though. I don't mean to hate too much. Paying $110 for a day pass so I can see Radiohead in a GA setting is 100% worth it to me. Toss in 2-3 other bands during the day that I like, and an after party, and it's a nice little time. But then again, I do have a free place to stay in Chicago.
God dammit Horn, now you're making me consider going to Lolla just for that day. If I can see things as magical as the War on Drugs and Flying Lotus DJ set aftershows again, I just might.
Well after seeing Roo's "anniversary", I've decided to lower my expectations for Lolla. I'm very excited for my 5th consecutive Lolla, but if that guy turns out to be right, this is lazy booking all around. I'm taking a train from Rochester, NY, which is 11 hours from Chicago. I know what to expect with Lolla, so that's why I have no problems paying blind since 2012(my first Lolla). Still, last year while a lot of people bashed the undercard, I thought that was one of their freshest to date, especially after 2014's debacle. I mean Paul Mccartney(expensive single ticket), Metallica(expensive single ticket), Florence(expensive single ticket), then Brand New(who wasn't playing everywhere last year, and now are having their farewell tour), TVOTR(who hadn't played Lolla in a while), Tyler the Creator(who had never played Lolla before). It was an eclectic lineup, and I really feel like I got my money's worth. Now flashforward to 2016....and we could be looking at something like this? I added in Muse, just because I feel like they'll be here, unless it's Arcade Fire.

Radiohead-Friday
Muse- Saturday
LCD Soundsystem- Thurs
Ellie Goulding- Sunday
*Bud Light*
Lana Del Ray- Saturday
Major Lazer- Friday
J. Cole- Thurs
Disclosure- Sunday
This is lazy booking, because there's no surprise here. Everyone is playing everywhere else, except Radiohead and Muse. Headliners surely don't make a festival IMO, but Radiohead sells this thing, and C3 should be ashamed.
So because one fest shits the bed, the other one has to? Great logic?

I'm just saying if the guy is accurate, how is this that far off from Roo's anniversary lol.

Probably my favorite thing from Lolla last year.
You went? Me, @jonesjupiter, and our two girlfriends and had a blast. I hope that venue gets some decent shows when I'm back in Chicago in May.

To be honest - I'll take this with a good undercard.
Imagine someone last August told you that Lolla 2016 would be LCD Soundsystem, Radiohead, and Muse. You would be so excited. I know the 4th day changes things but oh well.
As long as the undercard is good I'd be happy. For Sunday I would be just need to hope for a good Grove closer, or head home a little early no biggie.

I would be at Radiohead and LCD, and two good aftershows. Or Radiohead and LCD, one good aftershow, and a grove show.
If the headliners really turn out to be Radiohead, LCD, J. Cole, Lana, Ellie Goulding, Major Lazer, and Disclosure, I guess it really cements Lolla's new trend of booking one to two great headliners and phoning in the rest.
Yeah, but for a fest like Lolla, it's still worth the price of admission.
While we already know Radiohead will be at Lolla Chicago, don't expect Kings of Leon. Thankfully, they headlined just 2 years ago and would definitely not be back already. Muse and Macklemore headlined last year's Lolla Berlin IIRC.

Yep. There'll definitely be some crossover. I did a quick count and last year they shared 10 acts. Besides Radiohead and The 1975, I'm thinking this makes Major Lazer a lot more likely.

Yeah I think it's definitely possible that Diplo pulls double duty and both Major Lazer and Jack U end up at Lolla
FYI Soldier Field is booked for two nights July 4th weekend. I suspect those are going to be the GnR Chicago shows. Also as previously mentioned, Lolla won't share 2 of Coachella's top 3.

Yeah, this is why I assumed it wouldn't happen in the first place. Besides, Coachella always has to have that big reunion act that nobody else gets (and that clearly doesn't apply to LCD at this point.)

Any idea if it's July 2nd and 3rd? Hopefully so I could catch the Sunday show.

I highly doubt we will, but this would be a great surprise. Them closing the grove against J Cole and Lana (or was it Ellie) would be a great end to the night
