That Cage the Elephant show in 2011 was one of my favorites I've seen. That was my first time at Lolla and I'll never forget how great that crowd was in the rain.
Clay pool/Lennon getting announced for that new Vertex festival the week after Lolla makes me hopeful for getting them...
I'd be rather surprised if we got them. They don't seem like a typical Lolla-get. Although after last year that term has probably changed.
I definitely agree with you on that. Just shows that they are willing to do shows around that time. It's really just wishful thinking; I'm pretty sure we won't get them but it would be a lovely surprise
If anyone is looking to split a room a friend and myself are looking for a spot in the city for Lolla. I'm moving to the far northwest suburbs next month and I'm hoping to not have to take the Metra. I already picture myself missing the last train of the night, especially if I want to see any aftershows.
I'm really torn on whether to get a 4 day pass or get one to two day passes. I've gotta see Radiohead. Have to! Huge fan of em. They're one of the greatest alternative rock bands ever and I haven't seen them yet. I like Red Hot Chili Peppers, but I've already seen them in 2012 so I'm in between on that. They're fun and I'm a fan, but they haven't put anything good out in a decade and I'm honestly expecting little from their new album. You guys are gonna hate me for this, but I'm not an LCD fan and don't really care if I see em. 4th day, I'm hoping it's Lana, really like her. Although, she's just a maybe at this point. Usually, don't have a problem filling up the rest of the afternoon with the undercard bands, but the headliners generally have to be exciting to get my money's worth in my opinion. Maybe I'll be lucky with some of the opposing headliners and how they're scheduled.

The only even plausible act that would get me there a third day is Wolf Parade, but I'm not even counting on that to be honest. I'm not expecting anything on the poster besides Radiohead, LCD, and a bunch of boring crap every other festival is getting.
To be fair though... Radiohead, LCD and a bunch of other stuff that is playing other fests is still pretty good compared to the rest of the malodorous 2016 North American fest scene.
Lolla sells day passes right? Seems almost certain Radiohead and LCD will play on back to back nights (Friday and Saturday). Might just fly out for both those days if i can pull it off

Yes, Radiohead, LCD and a malodorous undercard is better than a completely malodorous lineup.
Having never seen Radiohead and only recently getting into LCD Soundsystem, I'm super excited for them. RHCP, Lana, and J Cole I could skip. Might spend a night or two at the Grove but that's fine with me. My favorite set last year was a closing set at the Grove.
