Biggest after show potential as far as line -up rank would be Chainsmokers or Flume.....I could see one or both pf those happening. And biggest after show last year wasn't Disclosure DJ set. It was DeadMau5 at Emo's........
Chance at Stubbs was the best/biggest aftershow. Did 2 encores, debuted a song he said would be on Chance3 but wasn't, and brought J. Cole out during the 2nd encore. Crazy and insanely energetic show.
Any way, schedule should be out in July, aftershows should be announced in late August. I could picture ACL Live getting Mumford but biggest aftershow will probably be Flume at Emo's or Stubbs or something. Maybe Willie or Chris Stapleton at Stubbs?

Forgout about Deadmau5 and Chance. I settled for Walk the moon (which I was hoping to sell) and TVontheRadio.
Decided to forgo Bonnaroo this year so I can see Radiohead at ACL. Found a round trip flight for less than $150 and impulsively bought it. Austin here I come!!

I went to THE BEST ACL aftershow last year. All Them Witches > Kadaver > The Sword at The Mohawk. It wasn't official and I missed ATW due to giving Drake a chance, but it was the best. Pretty sure it was the best.

But you missed the best band at the best show!
I know! And just to hear Drake brag about how much richer he would be if he had bet on Texas to beat Oklahoma that day.

The best aftershow last year was Royal Blood. I remember half way through their show, there was small gap between songs and this guy next to me on the rail yelled at the top of his lungs "THIS MUSIC IS FANTASTIIIIIIIIIIIIIC!!!!!!!!!!!"
Oof. Good luck. I've heard mixed reviews with Frontier. I'm hoping you have a smooth day of travel tho. What day are you flying out? And which weekend are you doing?
And for anyone who's willing to drive a bit, flying into Houston or Dallas can sometimes be significantly cheaper, but it's about 3 hours into Austin from either. So if you can split cost of rental car & petrol then it may be worth looking into. Otherwise you're looking at that $400 flight as your best option. Which is about average for anything in/out of Austin I've realized.
It was going to cost me $700 to fly home to Columbus over spring break (also during SXSW). But just by moving my arrival and departure dates around a bit I was able to get that price down tho. So if your schedule is flexible try playing around with dates to bring the price down.

As long as it gets me to Austin on time and in one piece I'll be satisfied. I'm doing weekend one (even though I prefer the second week's lineup) so I can be home for III Points the next week.

Brother lives in Houston so I think I am going that route. Weekend two.
hope everyone got their passes b.c three days are now officially sold out. daily breakdown and single days to come 6/16.
Got mine but this is good news because I may opt for just a single day Sunday and do Utopia Thur,Fri,Sat then ACL Sunday. I'm really torn between Hula and Voodoo and may skip ACL weekend II.

After Tool and Arcade Fire, Voodoo is pretty much garbage
Haha. That's kind of a bs take Fore. The shit that is crap, of course is. But there are easily 3 quality days there. Only caveat would be if they put Weeknd vs Chainsmokers to close which would be a disaster. But otherwise, no. Puscifer, Tribe, Mutemath, Gramatik, Claypool/Lennon, etc., not crap.
Hula is pretty awesome but it's the same shit I see throughout the year anyway. Having Bear Creek resurrected here from SoSMP in October takes away the jam/jamtronica sting out of missing Hulaween. That leaves me with no regrets to easily choose Voodoo. Also I've only never seen Logic and Disclosure on that Hula lineup first 20-25 or so. Neither is enough of a draw for me, but I'll see them both when I can.
As for ACL, I'm thinking less and less of going. Some sets were restricted, but Red Bull tv did such a nice job with the Bonnaroo sets, I might couch acl. You're not getting an ideal schedule with the broadcast because you are at their mercy as to what they are going to show.

There's definitely good stuff mingling between some garbage. Mutemath, Foals, STS9 are big winners for me.
That 2nd wave from Hula may tilt things toward it, but Im also waiting on Utopiafests line up (which wont draw anyone here, too small).

Here's the thing, all major festivals will feature garbage from some perspective. Some of the dork responses on Facebook to Tool as a "weak" headliner just proves the internet is often pretty stupid. But rest assured, whether it be Coachella, ACL, Lollapolooza, Utopia, Bonnaroo, Jazz Fest, Okeechobee, Voodoo or whatever, you're going to get some corporate booked ticket sale whore acts. Many of those I don't want to see, some I do. Fore is a good poster, and in 2015, we actually had opposite opinions on Voodoo/Hulaween. But there's no way the bands you listed, I listed and a bunch of other shit like Ghost, Pretty Reckless, Porter Robinson (live), Reignwolf, Snails, What So Not, Foals, Excision, Kevin Gates, Pres Hall, Lunice, etc., is garbage. To each their own, but no way. Perhaps some of the acts stick out more on Voodoo because they have less stages and a smaller lineup. And with the other mid and upper card acts, I don't think Hula is in the same galaxy as Voodoo. Not saying Hula sucks, it 100% doesn't suck, and I'd encourage anyone to go to Hula. Given the options however, it's pretty much a no-brainer. Everett had a posse' of about 20 that were going to do Hula. All but the one mf who bought a ticket are laughing now.
Im mostly pissed seeing the Weekend headlining another festival I was interested in. LOL. Anyways, Voodoo makes more sense logistically and has at least Headliners Im interested, along with some of my favorite bands as I mentioned. Hula is just completely loaded with solid acts though and I have definitely been chasing Disclosure. It is rare for me to give a shit about any DJ acts. ACL makes sense to me as much as Voodoo makes sense to you. Wake up and go. Find an afterparty, go home safely. Then there's this Margin Walker fest hopefully being announced tomorrow

A lot of it for me has to do with having seen most of those acts that you listed before or just not liking some of them (Kevin Gtes, What So Not, Excision.) Also, the amount of justification it takes for me to travel all the way to NOLA is obviously much higher than it would take for someone close to the fest. If I lived around NOLA, it'd be a no brainier. Hell, I doubt I'll even do more than a night of Hula this year and that is only happening if they schedule it great for me. As always, to each their own!
