Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Rather wait on Ween as well. Def going to do a Kamasi late night show, just don't know which one. That wouldn't cockblock any 8pm larger touring act. Will prob do Friday night so I can sleep later Sunday.
Always great seeing Art but I can't pay that much. Luckily I've seen him play like 15x already so it's not the biggest deal if I don't see him this time.
The Word will be back at The Joy first Saturday. I'm guessing Ron Johnson has replaced Chris Chew in this as well.
24th is a Sunday. Tickets go on sale Friday at 11am. From the WCP email:
THE WORD RETURNS TO JOY THEATER WITH DIRTY DOZEN BRASS BAND 4/24!
THE WORD - featuring John Medeski, Robert Randolph, and North Mississippi Allstars - will reunite for a special Jazz Fest after show at Joy Theater, New Orleans on Sunday April 24th with support from Dirty Dozen Brass Band. This will be the gospel rock supergroup’s third consecutive year at the historic venue. Get ready for an explosive jam session!
So some dude posted "the lineup" in the bonnaroo headliner thread. It's mostly all stuff we already knew. It came from a member of flow tribe. Thought I'd share for those not on that thread. Edit: it's on the info Facebook page as well.

Facebook (which I don't have anyway) is blocked at work, and that thread was even more painful than half of them claim the Hangout thread to be. I worked my way back to page #585, but I couldn't find it. I guess I'll do a search, and will edit it in if I can find it, but can you link the post from that thread? Thanks.
Nevermind. It's even (almost?) in the same order as it was posted here. Giant troll or pretty good year?
Walk right in, just around the back. Half a mile or so across the railroad track. You can get anything you want...
Not a troll , just trying to share valuable information as usual
Having not seen the Meters since the Dr. John/Toussaint Superjam at Roo, I am SO IN for this show at the Orpheum! Who knows how many more shows they've got in 'em. Tickets are steep, but I couldn't imagine a better way to kickoff my first JazzFest!

I could be a chick ?
dude=anonymous person on the internets in my vocabulary. It also means, OMG did that just happen. I could have called you a rando, so there is that.

Whoops. And yeah, I'm assuming most of you get the emails. With the exception of beachbob, who I am generously offering the opportunity to stay at your house for two weeks in late April.

Gracias. I've seen many of the names that were mentioned (Stevie Wonder, Pearl Jam, RHCP, Neil Young, MMJ, Gary Clark Jr., Mule, Snarky Puppy, Lauryn Hill, Galactic, Dumpstaphunk, Snoop Dog, Terrence Blanchard, Freedia, Rebirth, Baptiste, etc.), some 3 or more times. But I would see all of those again. It's sort of a safe lineup overall, but it is so jam packed with higher end talent, I can't help being excited. The main people I want to see that I haven't yet are Arlo Guthrie, Paul Simon, Herbie Hancock & Wayne Shorter, and Mystikal (have seen him do guest spots and will see him B2B with Juvenile and Fly Boy Keno at Buku).
The question regarded carsoni4 noting Dead & Co. and Gregg Allman to be announced. That was big for me. I don't so much care about Gregg, as I've seen him before. But Dead & Company doing a 2.5/3 hour set ala Phish 2014 would be awesome for me. Thanks again, and please let us know if you get any other worthy information.

Haha. I only wish I had as much room and as large of a classic rock CD, 8 track and cassette tape collection as you do. :backatyahattip:

Ya it's pretty fantastic , he also Mentioned that it's an "early " lineup FWIW maybe those acts are still not confirmed but maybe they're trying to make it happen ?
Appreciate the offer Jabco made for two week stay at Esteban's. I'll take that under consideration. Most likely will stay with friends near Stennis and drive in and out with them.

Hit us up if you come to town. We will find you at a mutually agreeable concert. I'm probably not going to see Boz Skaggs, Elvin Bishop or Van Morrison, but Arlo Guthrie or Tesdeschi Trucks should be on the mutual agenda.
Agreed though I'm not sure how many they end up sharing. Apparently last year's 7 day lineup was 460,000 which is still shy of the all-time record of 650,000 attendees in 2001 (Paul Simon, DMB & Mystikal HL), with the day Mystikal performed bringing in 160,000 people alone. That must have been a nightmare.
A guy by the name of dannyboy75 posted the following schedule at the Jazz Fest Forums. He said he lifted it from another board, so it's not to be taken completely seriously. It doesn't really assume any adds, though if Dead & Company are added, I would guess they'd be either of the Saturdays or the Thursday HL slot - but it does have Beck, Flo Rida, J. Cole and the tribute to Toussaint. I'm also not sure about Neil Young on the last Sunday. I'm just pasting what he posted. Oh, and they will be releasing the specific performance days on the 19th with the lineup release.
The weekends should shape up like this.... 1st Friday: Van Morrison, J Cole, Lauryn Hill, Galactic, Brandi Carlile, Rhiannon Giddens, Gregory Porter, Rebirth, Donald Harrison Jr. 1st Saturday: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Herbie Hancock, Nick Jonas, Maxwell, Boz Scaggs, Isley Brothers, Elle King, Mystical, Imagination Movers, Terrance Blanchard, Jon Batiste 1st Sunday: Pearl Jam, Julio Iglesias, Michael McDonald, Arlo Guthrie, Pres Hall, Buffie Sainte-Marie, The Lone Bellow, CeCe Winans
2nd Thursday: My Morning Jacket, Govt Mule, Revivalists, Punch Brothers, Snarky Puppy, Dirty Dozen Brass Band 2nd Friday: Tribute to BB King, Paul Simon, Gary Clark Jr., Buddy Guy, Jonny Lang, Beck, Flo Rida, Grace Potter, John Hammond, Elvin Bishop, Taj Mahal 2nd Saturday: Stevie Wonder, Snoop, Janelle Monae, TTB, Maze ft Frankie Beverly, Alpha Blondy, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Big Freedia, Ellis Marsalis 2nd Sunday: Tribute to Allen Toussaint, Shorty, Neil Young, Bonnie Raitt, Elvis Costello, Mavis Staples, Dr. John, Kermit Ruffins, Chris Botti, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Aaron Neville, Dumpstaphunk w/Art, Arturo Sandoval, Irma Thomas, Mississippi Mass Choir

You left WP off of the 2001 HL's...that's the only Jazz Fest I've been to. They headlined the main stage and did a theater the next night...I'm glad to hear that was a record crowd because maybe that means it's not as crowded as I remember. Oh, and had no idea Mystikal was even there. (I posted previously that the Paul Simon crowd was massive.)
I'd be fine with that, I'd go first Friday, Firsy Sunday, Thurs and 2nd Sunday. Would be sick getting to skip shitty Saturday both weekends. Hate dealing with that mess.
Bummed out bc I found out I can't Uber in nola without LA plates and license. Weak! Was gonna uber all day during Yazzfest when I didn't go. Guess I'll go to plan B and sell beer outside
If y'all have never seen her, def catch Janelle Monae, surely on the Congo Stage, she is so badass.

I just did a quick lookup based off the NOLA.com article noting that record crowd. It listed only those 3 though obviously WSP would have been big back then too.
Might RHCP be weekend two? They've got dates in the midwest in May. Perhaps they'll string together a little American leg before heading to Europe for the summer?

I'm in Mobile and can drive in Gulf Shores etc as well as Florida panhandle in the Pensacola area.

This is from the second time I saw her (first at Voodoo the year before). So amazing. Do NOT miss her.
EDIT: She was on that 2012 lineup that I had to get Brass Passes for. She was one of the reasons. Flo, MMJ, and Band of Horses were a few of the other reasons. I am seriously thinking that I am getting a brass pass again y'all. I am so excited.
MMJ and Neil on the same weekend would get me there
Pres Hall Midnight Preserves? Either or both would be prime candidates. Maybe just Jim James? Paul Simon even though he was just in town a few weeks ago? I'm pretty excited about being in town both weekends this year though I'm probably not doing Preserves. I think tickets for them went on sale in March last year. Once the lineup gets dropped on Tuesday, we will be at 90 days, and all the night shows should start falling in place.
