Would be nice if they got involved with some late night shenanigans.

How does this make them out for Thursday? Local Thursday is the second weekend, which is May 5.
Gah, can't wait to see this lineup. Would be awesome if there were a bunch of suprises.
Yeah, that's the one thing about getting the early leaks. Hopefully there will be some random stuff we didn't see coming. But I'm already good with plenty of the proposed enough to say that this might well include some of the top shows I'll see this year. I'm already excited for Neil Young, Arlo Guthrie, MMJ, etc.
Pretty much everything listed except beautiful to pick up Steely Dan. Once I'm done with this thing I'm having to do for work, I'll go look at the day by's. Thanks man.

lets also remember jazzfest puts lots of acts that could be considered headliners at the same time.
almost every day the acura stage, gentilly stage, congo square stage, jazz tent, and blues tent has highly desirable acts playing in the closing slots.
So what I'm looking at by day (not sure all the days I'm going except Jam Thursday for sure and probably not last Sunday)
Friday April 22: Steely Dan Janelle Monae Gov't Mule Kermit Ruffins Donald Harrison Jr. Hot 8 Brass Band New Wave Brass Band Panorama Jazz Band Real Untouchable Brass Band Guitar Masters featuring Jimmy Robinson, John Rankin & Cranston Clements
Saturday April 23 Pearl Jam Galactic Big Sam's Funky Nation Anders Osborne Leo Nocentelli DeJohnette, Coltraine & Garrison Joe Krown Trio featuring Walter Wolfman Washington & Russell Batiste Jr. New Orleans Exp featuring Partners N Crime, 8ighty, DJ Jubilee, etc. Jazz Vipers
Sunday April 24 Chili Peppers J. Cole Herbie Hancock & Wayne Shorter (all three of these shows will conflict) Johnny Lang Voice of Wetlands Allstars Taj Mahal Henry Butler Terrence Blanchard & The E Collective (!!!!!) Glen David Andrews Royal Teeth Dr. Michael White New Breed Brass Band
Jam Thursday Tedeschi Trucks & Friends Elvis Costello & The Imposters Gary Clark Snarky Puppy George Porter & Runnin' Pardners New Birth Brass Band Tuba Skinny Collin Lake Free Agents Brass Band
Friday April 29 Paul Simon vs. My Morning Jacket vs. Ms. Lauryn Hill Los Lobos preforms La Pistola Y El Corizon Bonerama Dirty Dozen Irvin Mayfield and the N.O. Jazz Orchestra Nicholas Payton & The Afrocaribbean Mixtape Shamarr Allen & The Underdawgs Astral Project PresHall Brass T-Ray the Violinist
Saturday April 30 Stevie Wonder vs. Snoop Dog vs. Beck vs. Dr. John vs. Preservation Hall Jazz Band (???) Rebirth Brass Band Big Freedia Soul Rebels Jon Cleary & Absolute Monster Gentlemen Cyril Neville's Royal Southern Brotherhood Treme Brass Band James Rivers Movement
Sunday May 1 Neil Young (damnit, looks like I'll be going the last Sunday afterall ) Arlo Guthrie & Alice's Restaurant 50th Anniversary Isley Brothers Dumpstaphunk with Art Neville Zigaboo's Funk Review Stooges Brass Band Storyville Stompers
This scheduling makes it easy for me to save $70 many times, as well as saving PTO.
Not bothering with Thursday with that lineup. Been wanting to see Costello forever, but Tedeschi Trucks does zero for me. That means I'll skip Oak Street Block Party, which was a blast last year. I'll come into town Thurs night for Jojo's show maybe. I'd like to see MMJ bad but dunno if $70 in the sun is gonna happen when I'm not too into the rest of the lineup that day.
1st Fri- Pass, hopefully Mule still does a latenight 1st Sat- 100% in for PJ, Van, Dejohnette 1st Sun- Pass, would love to see Wayne Shorter but can't justify the $$$ 2nd Thurs- Pass 2nd Fri- On the ropes big time for MMJ 2nd Sat- seen't it all 2nd sun- 100% in for Neil, Arlo, Toussaint tribute etc
EDIT: I'll be there both weekends but just focus on late night shows, mayyyybe do Fiyafest. May be my first Yazzfest where I don't use any PTO
