This is looking to be under the radar one of the better small festivals this year.
I need to listen to more Ryan Adams, Death Cab, Phosphorescent, Bully and All Them Witches before July rolls around.
This is correct. I am really excited for all of those but Death Cab (who I am still excited for. Just not as much).
Yeah, I only really enjoy a few Death Cab songs but since they're unopposed it seems like I might as well learn some more. I've really been slacking on Ryan Adams in particular. I've really only given Heartbreaker the proper amount of time. Might head to Rock and Roll or Cold Roses next.
I'm actually curious if they might do a one off. They're from Cincinnati, and the press release just said they're canceling their headlining shows.
They cancelled on Promowest Fest in Columbus so I assume they are out for Forecastle too.
Saturday already looked pretty good for me, so if they replace Walk The Moon for someone I like I might actually go to Forecastle for once.
Right after I posted that, I looked at Forecastle's Facebook. They shared the post on April 15th where Walk The Moon announced the cancellations, so yeah, it's pretty definite Forecastle is out. I'm gonna learn to research before I post one of these days.

I'd think so since it's still a few months out from the festival, but there's no guarantees. Another scenario is they bump up someone already on the bill then put in a replacement that isn't as big as Walk The Moon in their spot.

Late night shows are pretty weak for me. The Belle sucked for Jamie xx last year for me personally. Might skip out and just head to the local watering hole.

Yeah. None of them are really jumping out at me as a must see. Dr. Dog would be nice, but I've seen them before. We'll probably head back to the hotel for late drinking and bed.
shiz i didn't know they dropped out. they get paid pretty well to do a show so we might actually get someone decent.
Yeah, the singer's dad has early onset Alzheimer's which has deteriorated to the point where he feels he needs to be home with his family, so they cancelled all their shows after May. Even if the replacement isn't quite at their level, I feel it'll be someone significant especially with them making an announcement over one addition. It would be odd to do that then the addition be some band playing on the smallest stage at noon.
Really have my fingers crossed that Forecastle's Walk the Moon replacement is Animal Collective.
A) They were supposed to play in 2013 and had to cancel due to illness. B) They're touring and appear to have those dates open. C) They could absolutely hold down the #5 spot on the line-up and make the whole list of bands look better.

Wasn't Walk the Moon on Friday? If so I would love to get Sufjan Stevens in there (playing Pitckfork on Saturday). He would fit the mold of this festival well I think.
Honestly though I don't know what to expect, do they try to book a bigger act or do they try to replace walk the moon with a similar type band? I would be full on board with Animal Collective though!

I'm fairly sure that Walk the Moon was Saturday, because forecastle has 1 and 6 on the lineup on Friday, 2 and 5 on Saturday and 3-4 on Sunday. But I would love Sufjan. He killed it at Coachella. The only thing is that I feel like he's bigger than Death Cab for Cutie and maybe Alabama Shakes too. He'd have to headline, which I would be totally cool with, but I don't think it'll happen at this point.
Idk who is similar enough to Walk the Moon to go in that spot. Matt & Kim?

I went back and checked Forecastle's facebook. Walk The Moon was indeed on the lineup for Saturday. Re: the replacement, Sufjan would be great but a surprise. I would expect them to try to match the popularity of Walk The Moon well before the genre of Walk The Moon.
