Gotta say that the little cart on the holocaust memorial that sells chicken and steak kabob sandwiches is GREAT. Also he stays open a lot later than any of the traditional restaurants in the area. We spent 4th of July weekend in that area a couple years ago, and I think we got sandwiches from that cart 3 or 4 times.
Change of plans on lodging once again, found an amazing hotwire deal so I canceled my room at the Omni and ended up getting a room at the Millennium Bostonian, so I'll be right across the street from the entrance. I'm VERY excited about this.
Yup, I'm sure NYC isn't officially announced yet either due to Panorama.
Come to think of it, Boston Calling finally has a headliner at the level of a TD Garden/Xfinity Center act.
The TD Garden tweeted a date this morning (I didn't note the specific date). Later on, Boston Calling tweeted that Sia announced her North American tour and specifically noted that Boston Calling is the only chance to see her in Boston.
As soon as I saw that second tweet, I went back through TD Garden's earlier tweets and noticed that they deleted their tweet.
Crash Line must not have been too happy that the Garden jumped the gun on the announcement.

Yeah Do617 even created an event page on their site for it (which was subsequently deleted as well). But anybody looking at Sia's official tour itinerary can connect the dots given that there are two blank dates saying TBA, stuffed between other dates in the area.
I'll probably stand corrected on the Friday selling out after all.

Also wondering about the reaction from Sia's fans when the TD Garden gig gets formally announced, since it essentially reduces the Boston Calling set to an advertisement for her future venue show.

two after parties have been announced at the sinclair. The Vaccines are playing there Friday night and Charles Bradley is playing Sunday night.
I'm thinking about doing Charles Bradley as Disclosure is not my thang. Anyone know how many after parties are usually announce? Is it just gonna be these 2 ?

I have a feeling they could be the exact same set. From what I know, her show has been pretty meticulously crafted. Obviously she can take songs in and out, but I don't think her TD set will be any longer than a BC headlining set.

Doubt there will be any more official afterparties. Last year there were only two as well.
I'm betting that Sia will play for one hour at BC, equivalent to Coachella, with the fall tour being expanded to 80-90 minutes. Also betting that the press release has already been written:
"After her stunning performance at Boston Calling which received a rapturous response and reduced the crowd to tears, we are proud to announce that Sia has chosen to return to Boston for her headlining fall tour!"
Just got an e-mail from Crash Line, indicating that the schedule will be first available through the Boston Calling app. If anyone has the app and can copy and paste it here, as soon as it's available, that would be greatly appreciated. (Mobile luddite here...got a smartphone a few years ago and got rid of it after it defaulted to a Korean language user interface and I couldn't set it back to English.)
I'm curious as to when the local bands will be playing and who they're overlapping with.
(Speaking of Sia, how on Earth does she perform live without accidentally walking off the edge of the stage and breaking something? Enough performers do that without wearing a face-covering and vision-obscuring wig.)
Schedule is up on the app - for Friday Sufjan is 8:05 - 9:20 and Sia is 9:45 - 10:50 so everyone was right in assuming she would play just around an hour...wish it was an hour and a half like the Saturday and Sunday closers

The Charles Bradley aftershow is 21+ right? That may mean they have a later curfew. FWIW, it takes 20 mins by MBTA to travel from City Hall Plaza to The Sinclair.

Did you see the Coachella livestream? She stands in one place for the whole performance.

Also, the previously announced Digitalism show has become an official afterparty on Saturday, though it's an 18+ show with doors at 9 with no opener listed. Seems like it would overlap with Robyn.

There is just so much I love about this lineup. BORNS into Courtney Barnett is going to be amazing for me. Plus there are so many bands I've never seen before. Sufjan, Sia, Battles, BORNS, Barnett, Robyn, Christine and the Queens, Janelle Monae, and Haim. I've been trying to see most of these artists but scheduling has always fucked me over.
