What's the best non-douchey bar in the general area to head to after the music ends?
The Kinsale right next to the venue isn't bad. Depends what you mean by douchey I guess.
Bud light drinking frat guys hang out at douchey bars. I like bars with a good European beer selections, and decent music. I'm basically trying to avoid the plethora of Irish bars near Quincy market

You may just want to avoid the entire greater boston area in this case

Just kidding, but eh, I'm probably just gonna go to my hotel bar.

Surely you can do better than that.
The best beer bars for euro beers are:
Deep Ellum Row 34 Publick House
Unfortunately, none of these places are super close although I'm not sure where you are staying. Row 34 would be the closest to city hall plaza but still a 20 min walk.
For very close, but mostly american beers: The Tip Tap Room The Kinsale Irish pub (but decent local beer selection)

What's your opinion of the Ginger Man? They have a great beer list and don't look too far. I'm staying right outside the entrance of BC at the Millennium Bostonian, so I have a central location.

I was going to mention them, but I've never actually been. They just opened up on Mar. 16 and I've heard mixed reviews. Beer selection is good, but food is average and service is hit or miss from what I can tell. Definitely worth checking out if your just looking to grab some beers. Flights of any 4 (5oz) beers for $14 is a decent deal if you want to try some of the more expensive offerings.

Jacob wirth on stuart st might be a good place for you to try. I haven't been there in a while but they always had a good amount of german beers on tap
Latest weather reports suggest PM rain for all three days. Things should be dry on Monday, though.
Was downtown today and I walked past City Hall Plaza. There's a rather large fenced in area next to Government Center taking up a chunk of the plaza where some construction is going on. If it's still there next weekend, it's going to be a real eyesore. There are also these big blue construction wood boards near where the food trucks and third stage are.
CHP appears to be about as ready for Boston Calling as Brazil is for the Summer Olympics.

That whole Gov't Center construction better be worth it in the end. The T continues to be a shit show every time I head into the city.

This is probably the best bet for european beer selection, crowd, and decent food. about a 10-15 minute walk from Gov Center

Thanks! Seeing it like this really make the 15-25 minute gaps between stages at the end of each day stand out. Wonder why they just don't extend the set times.
So now the turf grass area got moved to the beer garden due to the construction. Which is actually nice, so all the people who just attend to talk, drink beer, and play with their phones may stay away from the front stages.
If I can find a buyer, I'll sell my 3-day pass at a substantial discount. Personally, I just can't get that excited about this lineup (Of course, your mileage may vary. To each, his or her own.)

PM if you're interested.
I'm offering the 3-day pass for $110, which is around $30 less than I paid for it with service charges on the blind early bird deal. That's $75 less than you'll pay at the gate for a 3 day.
It's still available, as of Wed afternoon just after 1:30
@bostontweet just put two free 3-day passes in the Hubway sign at Copley Square, right across from the Citizens Bank branch. If you see this right away and you're in that neighborhood, go for it.

Thanks for the heads up! My dad (a regular Boston Calling attendee/photographer) works right next to Copley Sq. so I alerted him and he got there
