Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Why not just go? See some music you'd otherwise never expose yourself to. Should be good weather for most of the weekend, if not all.
When the lineup was announced, I checked out everybody I was unfamiliar with on YouTube and not much of it appealed to me. Get beyond Vince Staples, Lizzo, Charles Bradley, and Palehound, and I'm just forcing myself to slog through acts that aren't my cup of tea.
I probably will go if I can't sell the ticket (at least for parts of the day on Sat and Sun), but this lineup strikes me as something I'd have to endure, rather than enjoy. I'd rather catch a couple of movies and go shopping this weekend.
I can't even go for the excitement of the unveiling of the September lineup on the video screen because there isn't going to be one.

There's always the third stage with comedy acts and local bands. And the Friday has Aaron Dessner & Lisa Hannigan as well as Sufjan, which won't be intolerable. Hope you enjoy whatever you end up doing though.

Thanks. I wouldn't mind seeing Lisa Hannigan, but getting there at 7 would be doubtful. I work in a home office for a company located in another state and my new boss isn't big on leaving work early or flexible scheduling. I can only play that card a few times this summer, and I'd rather wait until there's a really exciting after-work show at Converse HQ or Copley Square.
The local bands are cool, but they're the same bands I'll be seeing at the street fairs and local clubs around town. Still, if I end up going (and it's looking like I'll be doing Sat & Sun, since I haven't heard from anyone here or on Twitter about the ticket), I'll probably end up spending some time at the third stage.
I'm more bummed out than before about the lineup, once I saw who Newport, which I can't get to, announced this week. That really took a highlighter pen to my dissatisfaction with the BC lineup.

Anyone want to make the claim that Calling is a better fest than NFF?

You gotta give it up. Nearly every post of yours in this thread is awful.
Is anyone leaving Disclosure early to go to the Charles Bradley aftershow? If you are, would you be willing to text me when the opening band ends so I can know when to leave the fest?
Don't want to get stuck with a ticket for a lineup you don't like?
Don't buy a ticket before the lineup comes out.
Simple as that.
I had a reasonable expectation that a festival which had given me decent value for the money in the past, based upon my musical tastes, would continue to do so again.
It's not like anyone had a heads-up that they were going to go in a different direction this year.
If you bought a ticket for the new X-Men movie, only to discover that the new installment turned out to be a Victorian era drama, wouldn't you feel disappointed that something which had reliably been one thing in the past turned out to be something else?
Unless they move up to multiple concurrent stages for 2017 (not counting the local band stage), I will hold off until the lineup is announced before making the automatic 3-day purchase like I've done for the last five editions.

This is a fair point. When a festival books in a different direction, it's really not the ticket buyers fault when they change their mind.
No, this is like going to see the new X-Men movie, but it doesn't have the X-Men that you like in it. Boston Calling is still a music festival, with a diverse lineup, it didn't morph into ULTRA.
If I had early tickets for last fall I'd be pissed as well but since their lineups can be inconsistent I've always waited. Sounds like you got had but nobody else cares.
Their lineups been inconsistent since day 1 and it's ridiculous that you won't admit that.
They have NEVER gone this far in a pop/dance/electronic direction before. If you like that, then it's a good thing. If you don't like that, it's a bad thing.
Crash Line went as far as to come out an say in an earlier interview or two that they realize that they're doing something different this year that some of their past attendees might not like. The explanation was that once these particular headliners became available and they were booked, they wanted to put together an undercard that would work with those top line acts.
If the people running the festival can admit this, why can't you?
