Wow, pretty impressive. Probably about tied with Panorama for my favorite mid-size fest lineup and without exaggerating it's probably better than Bonnaroo.
I know almost all of the artists on the lineup other than some stuff towards the bottom and the only one I would actively try not to see is Major Lazer. Even they don't seem so bad when they're surrounded by this lineup
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Nice lineup. There are some acts there that Fawn and I would definitely travel all the way to Boston for (RI joke) but would not likely do a 3-day pass. So it looks like they announced the schedule last year mid February. Any clue as to whether this will/could sell out before the schedule drops?

I'm assembling a spotify playlist of the lineup now...
First find that excites me: Buffalo Tom. "When they released their first album in 1989, the Boston-based trio Buffalo Tom were written off as Dinosaur Jr. junior....Over time, Buffalo Tom stripped away their grungier influences and developed into a straight-ahead rock group of the early '90s capable of throttling rockers and beautiful ballads."
I still haven't even listened to a song of theirs, but I love that some festival acts you don't know have 20 million spotify plays on their top single...and some are from Boston and formed in 1989.

I don't think they've ever sold out before, as big as this is, I think the venue change will accommodate it. Even if it does, the secondary market has always offered pretty tickets right up to the fest.
If it's like last year the daily schedule will be out mid-February and the actual set times will be out pretty close to the festival. I'm hoping they do se timte a bit earlier this year given the overlapping set

Boston Calling always does a great job of representing local acts. I'm glad that tradition has both continued and expanded with this line up.
How can Tool play this fest and Gov Ball? The two fests are surely competing for the same market of festival goers
Boston and NYC are two pretty distinct markets. Maybe competing for CT residents in the middle, but for me Gov Ball requires a 4 hour drive and a hotel room, where BC can be accessed by public transit and I can sleep at home.
I was kind of hoping the new space mean the stages wouldn't be opposing. Still stuck listening to every single band that plays. at least i'll be able to lay on the grass in the back somewhere.
'13 Bonnaroo, Mountain Jam, Boston Calling '14 Mountain Jam, Boston Calling '15 Bonnaroo, Mountain Jam, Gathering of the Vibes, Boston Calling '16 Mountain Jam, Firefly, Newport Folk Fest '17 Mountain Jam, Newport Folk Fest, Boston Calling '18 Mountain Jam, Newport Folk Fest '19 Newport Folk Fest '22 Newport Folk Fest

Piebald are another great older Boston band with a decent spot on the lineup

Or you could go to the new third stage, or check out Natalie Portman's movie thing.

Is it bad that the biggest strike against this festival for me is that I have to sleep in a house? I love camping and I love the vibe that exists when almost everyone is camping. *That* more than the lineup is what I've missed about Bonnaroo the past couple years.
Bon Iver, the XX, Sigor, and Chance all together at a fest=I need to find a way to make this happen. But sadly I don't have any friends that live in Boston anymore :/ bleh
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Yea I haven't been to a camping fest since Firefly 2014, so I'm long overdue. I have a feeling Firefly will have too much overlap with this with a bunch of garbage filler in between to justify going this year, but I'm hoping they prove me wrong. Maybe I can figure out a way to camp in Montreal for Osheaga haha

WayHome is another option for people who live in the Northeast and want do a camping festival. Logistically, I'm about the same distance from both WayHome and Firefly, but I don't have much confidence in Firefly to deliver a strong lineup.

The Green Stage off to the far right in the illustration will be offering an alternative to whatever's on Red or Blue at the time. I'm sure they'll be programming with an eye towards doing something stylistically different on Green from the act on the larger stage.

would highly recommend Montreal, book an Airbnb now, you can get a whole apartment for 30-50 bucks a night! Montreal is also an amazing city with plenty going on at all hours. And Osheaga is probably my favorite festival, definitly top 3
