Is it just me or is every local media outlet just ignoring Tool when they've brought up the lineup so far? Every radio station I've heard bring up BC only wants to talk about Mumfords, Chance, and The XX. I've always wanted to see Tool so I'm definitely excited for them but I'm just surprised the top billed act is being overlooked by every local outlet I've heard bring up BC so far.
WAAF is probably the only one
WAAF's 97.7 station just switched over to an R&B format at the beginning of the year. It's only 107.3 now, which comes in spotty in a lot of areas
So I was trying to make a mock schedule for this and really struggling to figure out an arrangement that works.
Gov Ball does two stages with 6 acts and two with 5, but the ones with 6 start at 12:15 which is earlier than BC has. I could potentially see BC moving to a 12:30 start if gates are at 12, and 3:00 on Friday when gates are at 2:30. Assuming that, I guess they could do 6-6-5 on Sat/Sun and 4-4-3 on Friday? I don't see a way where they don't use all 3 stages for Friday.

Biggest question is whether the headliners will play unopposed. I'm betting they will not be.

They could probably work it out to have them only be opposed for part of the set. Especially if some of the sets on the third stage are a little shorter

It's a weird setup in that the red and blue stages cannot play simultaneously, and then there's the green stage which has its own large grassy area.
So either the green stage plays simultaneous with the red or blue stage (leaving the other unopposed), or the green stage does whatever it wants.

I would be shocked if the headliners are not unopposed.

I bet that they stagger the green stage sets to overlap with part of the blue stage set and part of the red stage set. They will likely be 30-40 minute sets with at least 20 minutes in between to setup and break down. Red and blue will likely function as they have in previous years.
Yea I haven't been to a camping fest since Firefly 2014, so I'm long overdue. I have a feeling Firefly will have too much overlap with this with a bunch of garbage filler in between to justify going this year, but I'm hoping they prove me wrong. Maybe I can figure out a way to camp in Montreal for Osheaga haha
WayHome is another option for people who live in the Northeast and want do a camping festival. Logistically, I'm about the same distance from both WayHome and Firefly, but I don't have much confidence in Firefly to deliver a strong lineup.
Welp, I just realized wayhome is the same weekend as NFF, so that's out for me

That's my hope. Then have the last acts on the green be like 8:45-10:00 and the headliner be around 9:20/30-11:00
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Wayhome/Newport/Panorama all being the same weekend is the worst festival conflict ever
This.
It killed me being at Panorama this year, seeing all you guys at Newport posting on facebook and looking so damn happy. This year it's going to kill me being at Newport, seeing all you guys at Panorama posting on facebook and looking so damn happy.

I think it could be similar to Toronto Urban Roots Fest. Their two main stages don't overlap, then the third stage has about a band an hour. clashfinder.com/s/turf2015/ for reference

I'm only about two hours from WayHome and I've got around 35 friends who go, but I know I'll never go, thanks to Newport.
Thinking about going for the first time this year. Do tickets usually sell out?
No. This year will be hard to gauge because it's at a new, much bigger venue with a much bigger lineup. It's getting a really positive reception, but I still doubt it sells out. I'd recommend checking secondary markets for tickets starting around March as well. It's never been hard finding tickets for below cost in the past

Has anyone here had VIP tickets for this? I know that it's in a new location and it might be different but how was the view and space? Would I be able to get a good spot in VIP if I walk up as the band is starting or would I need to camp out for the absolute best spot?
My one bit of wishful thinking was that they might let Sigur Ros close the stage. I think it's more likely them and The xx would be switched.
I would almost bet money that Sigur Ros closes out a stage. The current tour has SO MUCH PRODUCTION, that even if they strip a lot of it away I don't see how they can't be a stage closer.
My thinking was it would be Major Lazer V Tool on Friday, Solange V Mumford on Saturday, and Sigur v Chance on Sunday, though I haven't checked tour dates to see if that's plausible.

That's what I was originally thinking too, but SR have a show Sunday. I can't see them going up against Tool or Mumford, but there's also always the chance that BC won't be doing its usual "#1 on Friday, #2 on Saturday, #3 on Sunday" thing.

This vip at the old location was not worth it at all imo, the viewing area was about as far from the stage as you could get, much better views from ga. No idea what the new location will be like though.

It'll be my first time in Boston. Anyone have any recommendations on things to do? (gonna come in a day early to hang out in the city, get my history on, eat, etc)
