Any reason you don't plan on seeing the Friday sets?

Well it starts at 230, so you can do sightseeing in the first half of the day.

We'll we've really wanted to visit the area for a long time, and the lady friend has a list of stuff we want to see in the city, so we'd like to set aside an entire day for that. Mostly so we don't feel rushed doing it all in the morning before music starts, but who knows, we'll see. We'd like to do the beach, she wants to go out to Salem, Cheers, JFK, etc. jut rather not worry about having to make it into the festival on that day. Im sure some of it will come down to who's playing when and what not.

We could do that, and we still might. We just don't want to fell rushed to get everything in during the morning, and rush to the festival. Like I said to Katy, we may go on Friday, depending on who's playing, but we're not too upset about sacrificing a day.
Anyone have any idea who might be playing which days?
See the OP for confirmations so far. As for headliners, in the past they've done it in order so if that's the case, Tool on Friday, Mumford on Saturday, and Chance on Sunday, which would seem like the right fit

If you're going to Salem, you probably need an extra full day.

Oh god, why? Just from a distance stand point?
I mean if you got out early enough in the morning you could probably do a half day in Salem, but I'd still recommend sticking to Boston unless you want to add an extra day. Boston deserves at least a whole day if you've never been. Esp. if you're planning on a Sox game.

Really not trying to do hotels. Any hostels you all can recommend? Already doing hotels for Lolla and ACL. Can't afford 3 hotel fests, but really want to check our Boston and this lineup is a great reason to do so.

oh, I guess I didn't specify originally, we're going to the Sox game Thursday night, and then using the whole day Friday to just do random stuff around the city. Maybe we'll do Salem in the morning on Friday and then do freedom trail or something in the afternoon.
It's a half hour by train from North Station, each way. There are lots of restaurants, breweries, cideries, etc, plus a world-class museum, in addition to all the historical stuff. If you are coming, make it Thursday.

Before going to the game? We'll be driving in Wednesday night/Thursday morning. We could always stop there on the way in. I figure we'll have to kill time before we check in with the bnb.
If the Sox game is at 7, then I'd get here in the morning, do some historical things, go to lunch, do the Peabody Essex Museum, get an early dinner, then head for Fenway at 5-530. Park on the street by Fenway, then check into the AirBnB late.

I had a good experience at Boston Fenway Inn six years ago, but things there may have changed since then. Heard good things about HI Boston Hostel on Kneeland St.

I just spent forever comparing that image to images of the complex on Google hoping I could find another explanation for that closed off section, but I can't.. however, it's weird that the artist didn't depict anyone in there if it is a beer prison.
You know what else isn't depicted in the illustration? Porta-Potties.
They have to be there, of course, since the facilities in the buildings aren't particularly close to the stages and BC has a track record of ample units on City Hall Plaza.
Me and the gf are coming up from Florida, I know this is the first year @ the new location but just wanted to get some insight from any locals...
We're staying at an Airbnb in Somerville that according to Google Maps is a ~15 min drive to the venue, and like 8-10 minutes from Harvard's campus. We're debating whether we should just rely on Uber/Train/Bus/Walking or rent a car.
From what I understand the parking will be pretty limited but we're more worried about relying on Uber to get home & being out of luck at the end of each night when the surcharges are insane & we're in an area we don't know.
Anyone have any advice?
There are a very limited 200 - 300 parking spaces for festival goers and they're included as perks in one or more of the premium packages, so I wouldn't count on driving.
If you're lucky, your Airbnb is within walking distance of Davis or Porter Squares, where you can hop the Red Line to Harvard Sq. If it's not, there are quite a few bus lines which travel through Somerville and go to or past Harvard, Davis, and/or Porter Squares, so you shouldn't have a difficult time getting to the festival on the MBTA.
Now, if you're way on the other side of Somerville, near Rt. 93, just hop on the Orange Line at Sullivan Square or Assembly Row, go inbound to Downtown Crossing, switch to Red Line, and head in the Alewife direction, getting off at Harvard Sq.

Sasquatch lineup is out and it doesn't seem more impressive than Boston Calling in any particular way.
There are the usual 4-6 acts racking up frequent flyer miles and doing both fests. This year it's Chance The Rapper, Car Seat Headrest, The Hotelier, Mondo Cozmo, and Moses Sumney.
