Such a bizarre conflict. You have to figure more people would want to see full Bon Iver and Sigur Ros sets than partials of both and the ending of Chance.
BTW, 3 day passes are down to $158 on Stubhub right now...thats a god damn steal. Did this sell really poorly?
Anyone have any idea how you would even buy a pass on stubhub considering this is the first year they send you an actual wristband, vs. exchanging a paper ticket at the gate for a wristband?
The seller has to mail the wristband, I believe. At least that's what I had to do when I sold my PAX lanyard.

The seller mails you the wristband, ots Guarentee via stubhub. Last year a friend on mine ordered a Roo ticket the week before and we had to hit the road before the wristband was scheduled to arrive. She called stubhub and they worked it out with Roo and she was able to get a wristband at the tollbooth.

Also, heads up people (no lighters, lame; also note that they misspelled "Tobacco"):
"The following items are prohibited: Cigarettes, Cigars, Lighters or Tabaco of any kind – Boston Calling is a No Smoking Festival. Due to the composition of some of the fields, cigarettes will not be permitted on site and will be confiscated."

looks like vapes are okay....
Well, they do use metal detectors, so I wouldn't recommend bringing an upscale model which you wouldn't want to part with, should it be confiscated at the gate. (I paid more for my Pax 2 vaporizer than I did for my GA Early Bird 3-day pass.)
On the plus side, now I can see all of Mac Demarco
Edit: And some of CSH without missing Sylvan Esso. Overall this helps everything below the headliners for me.
On the minus side, there's now overlap between Francis and the Lights and Car Seat Headrest where none existed before.
Damn, I didn't notice that until you pointed it out. That sucks. I want to see all of Car Seat, but I also want to check out Francis is because I have a hunch that Chance and Justin will come out to do Friends, but he probably won't perform that until the end.

I feel like its more likely to have francis come out during chances set to do friends
BC veterans, will out of staters under 25 be able to purchase beer? Or is it simillar to TD Garden?
Wait wait wait. Out of staters under 25 cant buy beer at TD Garden?????
There's some seriously stupid laws in Mass. around alcohol sales. Places are so afraid of losing their license for selling to minors that they'll make some ridiculous rules trying to stay out of trouble.
I once was at a packie in Worcester and they refused to sell to me because I had a Connecticut license, even though I was 26 at the time.

I'm so not a pop person, so you'd think that opting for CSH would be an easy decision for me to make, but I checked out a handful of FatL songs on YouTube and really like his stuff. His voice reminds me a bit of Peter Gabriel and his melodies are very solid.
I suspect I'll do the first 20 minutes of his set and then make my way over to CSH, but if I'm really impressed by what I'm hearing, I might just stick with FatL.
Honestly, I'd rather have overlap problems than deal with a run of 2-4 acts I'm not interested in at a "one act at a time" festival. These are good problems to have.
Speaking of scheduling, how did Cage The Elephant end up as the lone unopposed non-headliner?
In that nature of first world problems - I really hate the change - BI > SR made so much sense and would have made for a cool night. A little of BI > SR > end of chance makes no sense.
I would love a PUP aftershow - but I will be staying to the end of Mump - any late night Boston suggestions that are within walking distance of the fest?
I've seen SR a couple times so I'll probably stick it out to the end of Bob Iver. Definitely bummed and confused at the change. Bon Iver and Sigur Ros in the rain sounds appropriate though
This sucks. I guess the easy choice is just Bon Iver into Chance, but I really wanted to just do Bon Iver and SIgur Ros and just catch Chance at any other festival.

I guess it's edibles for Tool then!
Oh and having Bon Iver and Sigur Ros overlap is retarded AF. Makes me feel better that I won't be attending this year.

This schedule change allows me to see slightly less Francis & The Lights, slightly more Car Seat Headrest, and part of Chance
y'all are a bunch of complainers
I'm not a big fan of partial sets, and the way the change affects the earlier sets is a bummer. But also for any festival to book Bon Iver and Sigur Ros and have them conflict at all is fucked up.
It's not fucked up. It's just how festivals work. There's no way to have all three of Bon Iver, Chance and Sigur Ros play in the same 3 hour window and have no overlaps. There's no way to have them play that doesn't involve two full overlaps or three partial overlaps. One of those two options creates a lot more pissed off people than the other.
And I mean really, think about it for a minute. What exactly were you expecting them to do, given the bookings? Most people will be seeing Bon Iver and then Chance. This actually helps Sigur Ros get a few more people than they would have otherwise, because let's be honest, they are in the position they are because they are followed in something approaching a cultish manner.
This schedule tweak is better for the artists and for the fans, with the exception of the very small percentage who planned on going Bon Iver -> Sigur Ros, who probably exist only on music forums and select dormitories at Emerson College.

I was expecting what they initially announced. While you're right that most people probably planned on Bon Iver > Chance, I'd guess most, if not all, of the people who want to see Sigur Ros also want to see Bon Iver. Sigur's following may be cultish, but if there's one other artist on this entire lineup those people would be interested in, it's Bon Iver. Chance vs. Sigur Ros is a relatively easy conflict for people to decide on
And I think it will hurt crowd sizes more than it helps. Now Bon Iver's crowd will thin out towards the end more than it would have AND Sigur's crowd will be smaller at the beginning that it would have been. I don't see a lot of people deciding to go check out Sigur Ros now that it means they can catch the very end of Chance's set

I think you are seriously underestimating the amount of people who could not care less about Chance the Rapper. And last time Sigur Ros was in Boston, they played the Agganis Arena which is massive.
Bon Iver and Sigur Ros at the same festival, let alone the same day, was an excellent reason for people outside the area to make Boston Calling into a destination festival (alongside the rest of the lineup). No other festival this year is doing this, whereas you can see that jerkoff Chance at a million other places.
