Admittedly trying to memorize multiple motherfuckers' outfits and then locate them in a crowd isn't gonna happen, but I'm wearing black leggings and a tan tank. Brown sunglasses and brownish beanie. Waiting for Danny Brown currently.
Twist the loose ends as tightly as possible and shimmy the plastic thing over while twisting. Not easy, but possible
Not working
My wristband shrunk in the shower this morning, and it's even tighter now. Can't replace it until I'm back at the grounds tomorrow. It's getting painful.
I did it complete buffet style from 2 - 6 today, caught anywhere from two to four songs (Sumney, Russ, Brown, Carlile, T&S) to whole set or very close to it (Strand of Oaks, Stizz).
Having slept for only around five hours last night, exhaustion crept up and I couldn't make it to Rateliff.
Just going to get there when I get there tomorrow, and stick to the Blue stage for Weezer and FRabbit and whomever else I happen to catch there. Definitely not staying for Tool. Some mild curiosity with them, but not enough to push myself to the bitter end.
It seemed a lot more crowded today, given the lines for portolets at the clusters which were barely touched on Friday, and the heavy pedestrian traffic on the far access road.
Danny brown crowd was garbage beside the one crazy mosh circle but he was good
Danny Brown was dope. My crew wasn't having it but i had a blast.
Mumford ended their set very well. Even though they did it at roo, "With a little help from my friends" is a great song to cover. Brandi Carlisle killed it on there.
Mumford gets shit on here, but holy hell do those guys put on a show. Fantastic. Always feel like nobody is having as much fun as them up there. The XX was beautiful. Jaime's beats come through even better live than on record. Incredible visuals and just awesome production.
Lot of short tempers out there today. A bunch of people that obviously have not been to a typical fest before and aren't used to lines, people trying to shove through crowds, etc. A good day of music though. Hoping tomorrow might be a little less crowded with it being Sunday, Tool being the headliner, etc.
I think this festival has potentional going forward, but they need to change the stage set up, and better prepare for the number of individuals. I saw improvements from day 1 that were small but important.
I do appreciate that the bands seem really excited to be there. Small thing, but comes through in the performances.

Yeah forgot to mention comedy. That was a lot of fun. Left Hannibal Buress a little early to get a good spot for the xx (who also killed it), but his bit about Migos replacing Solange was hilarious

Solid second day. The xx and Kevin Morby were my favorites of the day. Though Mumford & Sons gets a lot of hate, they know how to put on one hell of a live show and prove once again to me that they are a worthy headliner at any fest. Just wish where I was people would actually pay attention to the set for the songs they didn't know and shut up, but I expected as much as I was hanging in the back, since I ran to catch the last two songs of 1975 after the xx ended. Still the worst part of the fest for me is leaving the red stage after the subheadliner, they really need to fix that layout in years to come. Also saw a bit of Alexandra Svaior, Russ, Cousin Stizz, last two songs of Oh Wonder, Danny Brown (wish the crowd I was around was more into it), and Tegan and Sara. Excited for Pup, Weezer, and Run the Jewels tomorrow.
but his bit about Migos replacing Solange was hilarious
I would love to know what he said
Im sure theres videos out there if you want to see the bit, but the gist of it was him imagining what the process of the migos pondering accepting the gig last minute or not was like. Adlibbing through the negotiations and such. Idk i thought it was hysterical
It's so interesting how important crowds are at concerts in general. The crowd where I was for bon Iver almost ruined his show for me, but I was right next to the mosh pit for Danny brown, which made that show one of my favorites of the weekend.

It really amazes me how many people paid money to talk through this fest. I feel like it's bro-chato central every where I go. My shining moment was finding someone dressed like Stich from LILO and Stich and for some reason everywhere he went during Mumford the crowd cleared. The back was almost unbearable with all the talking. Why even go?
Was about 5 rows from the front for the XX and it was absolutely beautiful. Got about half way up from starting in the back for Mumford. Fourth time seeing them and they never dissapoint. Idk why they get all the hate they do.
So far Holocene in the pouring rain, the entire XX set and the ending of Mumford has made this worth it.
Hoping Tool brings down the house tomorrow. Going in later to rest up during the day.

I have to say, I'm really impressed by the new location. It's about a million times more enjoyable than Government Center and it didn't feel quite as crowded today. being able to use the bleachers next to the blue stage is a nice touch.
Crowd has been pretty hit or miss for me. I'm pretty easygoing so I just live and let live when it comes to people shoving through or whatnot; sure people are rude but I don't let two-second encounters take up too much of my attention. My gf and our friend have been complaining about the crowd nonstop though, so i guess it bothers some more than others. Idk. It's a fest, suck it up and enjoy yourself. Life's too short and the music's too good. Though last night at Chance when some girl got on her bf's shoulders I promptly asked them to get down. They copped an attitude but got down anyway so that works for me.
I will say though that in general the fest is overcrowded. We pushed dinner back a couple hours just because the lines were too ridiculous. Got our beer calories in for sustenance though. 👍
Xx was great today, as were Nathaniel rateliff and Mumford (as usual). Looking forward to a great day of music tomorrow as well.
