I'd really like to know what they think capacity is, because there was a ton of people there today and we know it wasn't sold out. They need more food vendors and portos.
Had a pretty good day. Strand of Oaks, Danny Brown, and Nathaniel Rateliff were all good. Could hear Tegan and Sara in a food line, which took like a half hour.
I know the Mumfords gets shit on here, but they were very good. Favorite set of the night for me.
I wasn't expecting to enjoy The XX as much as I did. The dance party part of the set was fun.
For what it's worth, the bag searches were so soft today that I brought in a bunch of snacks and a full water jug and no one noticed or said anything. I'm gonna try the same thing tomorrow.
Tomorrow will definitely be my longest day, since Im going to start at Pup.
Tomorrow's my longest day too. Mondo cozmo for our first set, then I know we're doing flatbush zombies, mitski, run the jewels, cage, major lazer, and tool. Not in that order I just don't have the schedule in front of me.
Honestly I'm not sure what to expect from tool. I know that they put on a good show from what I've heard in here, but they're mostly too heavy for me. And I have no weed here so I can't use that too help lol.

Ha, when we went it my gf literally said "don't you want to look in my bag?" and the guy said no and just tagged it. Ditto for my bag as well. From a sneaking food and booze in perspective it was great, but it definitely didn't make me feel any safer.

Im probably going to wait up front for Tool through Major lazer and will totally not have weed too
Echoing some other people but talking was a big problem today. I'm fine with you enjoying the fest your own way, but realize that most people are there to listen to music, and if they can barely hear that music you need to shut up or move. Tried getting a spot between Green and Red for The xx/Mumford but could the xx's sound had to fight against a circle of Mumford bros (a group of people I don't think I realized exist).
Speaking of Mumford, I agree with others that they were really good tonight. I'm too tired to get into the reasons that I still think they're not a great band, but I was very impressed. Except for those lame '80s video filters they kept putting on the screens
Top sets of the day were Brandi Carlile and Kevin Morby. Bummed I didn't see Danny Brown but Brandi made it worth it. Was planning on seeing Hannibal and definitely should have because T&S and Rateliff didn't leave much of an impression. I've seen both play better shows before
As for attendance for anyone wondering, the official word is 40K, and today definitely felt really crowded. That number might be bumped a little high but I think 30+ is a safe bet. I was told they weren't given a real capacity so they don't know what a sellout would be, hopefully they wouldn't go much more than they did today though. Especially if they don't rearrange the Red and Green stages, which I think they'll have to
Must be an east coast thing because GovBall had some serious talkers during FJM
Happens all over the world, not a regional thing. Frankly, I won't even bother attending certain sets anymore at festivals if I know I cannot get a good spot up front that maximizes the chance of being surrounded by music people.
The real culprit is the presence of fucktards who have no fucking business attending live music all together. Blame the festival/concert bubble. Don't be afraid to confront these people if they bother you.
I did it complete buffet style from 2 - 6 today, caught anywhere from two to four songs (Sumney, Russ, Brown, Carlile, T&S) to whole set or very close to it (Strand of Oaks, Stizz).
Having slept for only around five hours last night, exhaustion crept up and I couldn't make it to Rateliff.
Just going to get there when I get there tomorrow, and stick to the Blue stage for Weezer and FRabbit and whomever else I happen to catch there. Definitely not staying for Tool. Some mild curiosity with them, but not enough to push myself to the bitter end.
It seemed a lot more crowded today, given the lines for portolets at the clusters which were barely touched on Friday, and the heavy pedestrian traffic on the far access road.
You finally get a festival with multiple stages in your town and then you leave early on all days?

Day 2 thoughts, the proximity of the red and green stages is starting to get to me. It's quite difficult to move after 4:00 in that area, there's just too many people. That being said, a friend who works for the festival shared with me that they capped the fest this year at 35k since it was the first year on the new grounds. Next year supposedly they aim to at least DOUBLE the capacity in the same space, which seems horrifying to me. Also the food line problem was BAD today. I have Celiac's so my options are already cut back a little bit, so the long lines are very frustrating.
All that being said I thought the music today was great, this fest does a good job of booking quality lineups top to bottom. I left a little before the end of the XX (just saw them in Philly and loved it, but I thought last night felt really phoned in) , and I don't particularly care for Mumford (though I'm bummed I missed the Beatles cover, anyone know who they brought out?).
Set rankings 1) Strand of Oaks 2) Brandi Carlile 3) Hannibal 4)The XX 5) Kevin Morby 6)Alexandra Savior 7)Nathaniel Ratliff 8)Oh Wonder
See y'all today I'l be wearing a titus Andronicus hoodie, with a kurt vile baseball tee under it, and an elephant hat. I'll be at the blue stage almost all day.

Half the people that came to talk and be seen will be at every country show in Mansfield this summer, getting shitfaced in the parking lot wearing cowboy boots.
It's another opportunity to get trashed on light beer and pretend you're still in college.

Double capacity for next year? Oh god, that sounds horrible. I don't even see how that could happen without a significant expansion. Hopefully that was a pre-fest plan that will quickly be squashed.

My pretty good video if I must say
Doubling this would be lunacy of the highest order. You would literally need to take downs the tennis court fences and put up an ton of sound buffers to get any other stages
Mumpsons kicked butt I was impressed The XX from a distance. I mean I don't get it. Like at all Nat Ratliff. Good but I wanted more. Without SOB he would be a fine early day act Brandi Carlie. Wow. Real talent Stand of oaks. Nice early day get Kevin Morby. Well done young man. I will see you again Alexandra Savior. I will not

Might not be the best thing to tell everyone on the board (or anyone else reading ) what you are wearing, where you will be, when you will be there, and what you are carrying.

I yelled at some Gaga fans during Bon Iver at Coachella. Very disappointed in the lack of respect they showed for another artist. And they couldn't have been waiting long because I got there the set before
BTW, I'll be the old dude in the Elvis Costello tour shirt, beige khaki shorts, and Dawes "We're All Gonna Die" cap. I'll likely be in "Hey, kids, get off my lawn" mode when you see me, shushing some loud talkers or going for my tenth Dunkin' Donuts or KIND free sample of the day.
