Is anyone here going to be keeping track of setlists for Setlist.fm?
I noticed that last year, nobody posted setlists. Two years ago, there were only a few (Spoon, Mastodon, etc.).
I'll be at Hopscotch on Friday only, and I'm planning to see all of Avers (day party), Anderson Paak, and Beach House. I'll see some of Gary Clark Jr. and the CAM shows (Beach Slang, Car Seat Headrest, Twin Peaks).
Avers is probably the thing I'm most bummed about missing Friday. That Egghunt showcase is just beautiful, imo. It's just slacking a Lucy Dacus from being perfect. If you don't have plans for the daytime, I'd suggest checking out Clair Morgan. One of my favorite things going on in Richmond these days.

Also just realized my Hopscotch weekend gets underway tonight (of sorts). I'll have a show every night for a week and a half with the festival thrown in the middle.
This truly is my favorite time of the year.

Sadly I have to work Thursday and Friday so I'll only be doing day shows on Saturday. Also if we do some sort of meet up on Thursday or Friday, I'll probably have to catch up with you all at the CP shows.
Still working the schedule. Friday is a dumpster fire of conflicts. Might just camp out at CAM but young thug and Juliet baker are both really good. I'm open to suggestions on Thursday as well.
End of Wye Oak > Wolf Parade > Wing Dam (if I can catch any of it, which I doubt)> Deep South for a night of hip-hop/rap/R&B (Angelo Mota, Ace Henderson, Well$)
Still not sure about Friday, but I'm leaning towards basing the schedule around Julien Baker, so take that for what you will. Only definites are her, Anderson .Paak, and Beach House. Everything else is up in the air.
I need to take a closer look at day parties before deciding on Saturday. Maybe an Inforoo meetup at a day party, followed by everybody losing it to Vince Staples and Sylvan Esso? Just throwing out an idea.
I had a blast at Hopscotch yesterday. What an awesome, well-organized festival. My only regret is only going on Friday this year due to work commitments. Next year, I'm in for the weekend.
Avers was fantastic. I love the multiple songwriter approach and their rock/shoegaze sound. They seem destined to follow fellow RVAer Lucy Dacus to a major label at some point. It was a short 7-song set, but I enjoyed the daytime club atmosphere. I love the day party club set up; it beats standing out in the heat at most festivals.
I was going to watch a few songs by Dead Tongues, but they hadn't opened City Plaza or started the show by 6, so I left for Gary Clark.
Gary Clark Jr. was pushed back (more waiting, the only negative of the night with some sets) to 6:45, so I only caught 25 minutes before I left for Anderson Paak. GCJr. is the man. He'll have a nice, long career. I even heard some of his soundcheck after Avers.
Anderson Paak had a lively crowd. He and the Free Nationals were great as usual over an hour-long set. "Come Down" to open was a great choice. He also brought out NC local Rapsody to guest on "Without You." Lots of fun.
I'm a HUGE Beach House fan, so it was special seeing them in an outdoor, inner city environment. I was close to the stage, so I could tell Victoria really seemed pleased by the crowd response. Set up took a bit long, but the band still played 75 magical minutes. The set was mostly standard for the tour, but "Majorette" and "One Thing" were welcome surprises. The crowd was really young up front; I felt like there was about a 15-20 year age gap between the City Plaza and Red Hat crowds on average haha.
Beach Slang was energetic and fun, better than expected. The CAM wasn't that long of a walk at all, and I liked the venue/space. I left to catch a bit of Young Thug before heading home (3+ hour drive back), but he wasn't on stage by 11:25, so I bailed.
Great festival. No long waits except for delayed acts. Lots of free stuff (cool Hopscotch United scarf, granola bars, sunglasses, etc.). Water for $2. Really cool people. Beautiful city. Great musical acts. I can't praise this festival enough.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Highlights for me were: Wolf Parade Sylvan Esso Eric Bachmann Andrew Bird Car Seat Headrest (Best show I saw)
Wanted to see Julien Baker but by the time Car Seat Headrest was over, there wasn't time to get from CAM to Nash Hall.
Only disappointment for me was really Twin Peaks. Seemed to be totally intoxicated or high on something. They sounded fine but were a little off-putting for me. Also missed about half of Wye Oak, who I was really looking forward to seeing, because the hotel had messed up our key cards.
