Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I know that as their career progresses, the overall quality of their albums have declined, but damn do I love seeing this band live. Never stops being fun. I can't believe I'm headed back to Bonnaroo. I haven't been there since 2012.

I've seen PJ 12 times. They always leave me wanting more. It's great that they're back in the mix. 15 years for Roo and 25 for PJ seems like a set up for craziness!
I'm sorry but have they done shit since 2008? No, so how will this be any different??
The 2008 show is one of the best I've seen in my 8 years on the farm, and as been mentioned they change the set list up pretty often. Now doubt there will be some changes. Even if there wasn't I will gladly take them back.
I've seen them a half a dozen times, the first in '91, and they have been consistently excellent.
One thing that even the most vocal naysayer should admit is that they really do seem to care that they are putting on a good show. You don't catch them phoning it in like, say, Billy Joel or The Police have done in the past.
Pearl Jam is the reason I came to my first Bonnaroo. If I don't see any show before Bonnaroo, this year will be my tenth time seeing them, and I can't wait. Will also be my sixth Bonnaroo. So glad they are coming back. I hope no one shows up at the show except me, they have definitely sucked since 2008

I really loved Ten when it came out and enjoyed Vs. as well. They were my favorites of the Seattle Grunge wave. I lost interest in the band after the second record, I may have heard Vitalogy. Anyhow, I always hear people tell how good they are live. I'm going to check out some of the discography in the next few months and try to get into them again. I'm definitely not upset to find out they are headlining.

This will be ~27 PJ show for me - If you are looking to expand on PJ I'd stick to live albums as an incredible amount of live shows are available. You'll be able to better prep for what you may expect to hear as many songs have been virtually retired over the years - some of which you may not expect (Ie; Jeremy isn't a common live song whereas Do the Evolution is a staple of most shows and amazing live).
I personally think the Pittsburgh show from the latest tour was tremendous and would be a great starting point on what a PJ show sounds like these days.

I guess it depends. I've been to about 22 shows and have heard Jeremy A LOT more than DTE
I've never been a loyal PJ listener but have heard such amazing things about their live shows, I'm excited to see them. And this thread is gonna prove helpful in figuring out where to delve into first of their discography. Thanks!
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

As stated, listen to the live bootlegs if possible (they are all available on their website, and I am sure you can find them elsewhere). If you have sirius satellite radio, station 22, aka Pearl Jam Radio will give alot of live cuts, and sometimes play a concert.
My personal favorite bootlegs would be the Moline and Milwaukee shows from last year (they played No Code, best album ever, in full at Moline, and played Yield in Milwaukee). Also the Detroit and Denver bootlegs are also very good.
And to note that you fell out of interest after vs, that makes sense for alot of people. The band started to go in their own direction after vs, especially with No Code. There are some amazing tracks on the later albums, but they did not get airplay, so they aren't as well known as those 1st 3 albums.
And every show is different. Don't go in with expectations that they will play all of their hits, but they will play a bunch of them. And with this being the bands 25th anniversary year, I am hoping that they have somehow secured their PJ25 celebration at Bonnaroo. I don't think I would ever leave the farm again if that happened.

You are better at interwebbing than me. This is a great synopsis with good advice. Moline and Detroit were both awesome
