Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I am not as die hard as some here so I don't know all the songs that aren't played regularly. I have been to shows that they play more hits and shows that they play few hits. all shows have been AMAZING! Even Moline when Eddie got shit faced, sat indian style on the floor, and sang. He knows what he is doing and has a damn good time doing it. I'm super excited!!!
I said after this year that (mainly for financial reasons) I can only guarantee a return if Pearl Jam, Radiohead, or Arcade Fire headlined. So I suppose I have to keep my word as well. Bucket list time. I'll see y'all on the farm.
People are hesitant to take anything COS writes seriously. They are like the Hilton of /scoopz.
Edit: Hilton is the hilton of /scoopz.
I'm aware of that but CoS took their confirmation from Inforoo. Or reportedly saw the stuff on inforoo and then "checked with other sources." Either way, the confirmation came from an email from the booking person at Bridgestone Arena saying that PJ opted for Bonnaroo instead.

Plus, I believe Phi said that CoS staff confirmed the rumor through two different sources.
As stated, listen to the live bootlegs if possible (they are all available on their website, and I am sure you can find them elsewhere). If you have sirius satellite radio, station 22, aka Pearl Jam Radio will give alot of live cuts, and sometimes play a concert.
My personal favorite bootlegs would be the Moline and Milwaukee shows from last year (they played No Code, best album ever, in full at Moline, and played Yield in Milwaukee). Also the Detroit and Denver bootlegs are also very good.
And to note that you fell out of interest after vs, that makes sense for alot of people. The band started to go in their own direction after vs, especially with No Code. There are some amazing tracks on the later albums, but they did not get airplay, so they aren't as well known as those 1st 3 albums.
And every show is different. Don't go in with expectations that they will play all of their hits, but they will play a bunch of them. And with this being the bands 25th anniversary year, I am hoping that they have somehow secured their PJ25 celebration at Bonnaroo. I don't think I would ever leave the farm again if that happened.
You are better at interwebbing than me. This is a great synopsis with good advice. Moline and Detroit were both awesome [/quote
I'd also look at any Festival bootleg (exception Global Citizen) as a good jumping off point. They tend to "greatest hits" the festival setlist.

IN the pit for 2008---only other show that compares in my ten years at Roo is Jay-Z 2009. Prepare yourselves if you wanna be close though; PJ fans don't play and games---they will punch you.

This is one of my fears, but I'm hoping they stack the What that day so I can be happy just working my way up to the rail and not worrying about the pit.
Tallest Man On Earth > Band of Horses > Tame Impala > Pearl Jam That would do the trick

The Pearl Jam 20 documentary is also great. On Netflix I'm pretty sure. Provides a great history of the band with lots of cool live footage. Definitely deepened my appreciation for them.

Being obsessed I usually watch this thing once or twice a year. Very good documentary of both the band, and gives a bit about the Seattle scene in the late 80s early 90s. It was really cool seeing Stone Gossard go all fanboy over Chris Cornell when they were young.
Maybe at his Rock The Earth interview at Solar Stage on Sunday afternoon or the cinema tent screening of Into The Wild.
Hopefully he talks about how he became a Chicago Cubs fan despite being a surfer from California that moved to Seattle (to cash in on the grunge scene after a bunch of other bands did it better first)

became a Cubs fan? Didn't realize he wasn't one until after he moved out of Chicago for the second time. He did spend like 15 of his first 25 years of life there but I guess we can leave that out if its easier to criticize.

I really like their new shit. Backspacer and Riot Act weren't great, but I love Avocado and Lightning Bolt. Everything before that is either a classic or severely underrated.
And even if you don't like their album, their live show is simply the best rock show around.

PJ is beyond epic. Every album has atleast a couple gems. Their latest, Lighting Bolt is very solid and produces several great live songs. I saw 2 back to back shows last tour, and heard 72 songs, 40 of which were unique. I've seen them 8 times, always 2.5-3+hrs. Live bootlegs are amazing, especially recently as the sound quality is great. 2 shows to get up to speed? Dec 2013 Spokane, Dec 2013 Calgary.
