In 2008 it started when they opened the gates. At least they had good music that day. RIP BB King
It got me to the rail on Mikes side.
I showed up after Jack Johnson and was in the pit a few rows back from the rails.
If you came up after JJ then you just got sucked into the mob of pushers. Ton of ppl came up right before the pit opened and started shoving into the line. First time I'd heard people yelling about pushing "Philly Style"
After 8 hours in line the people up front knew who'd been there.
You could actually get thru to backstage from behind the portos there. Mike & Matt said hello to ppl.

I'm pretty sure I waited until everything has settled down. I don't remember exactly when I got down there but back then it was pretty easy to walk up five minutes before a set and stroll right in.
I wasn't stuck in a pushy pit line until 2010 for Jay Z. I had actually been in line through Stevie that time and was pretty disgusted by the behavior of people trying to push in.
I've now accepted that that's just how Bonnaroo likes it because they've taken no steps to correct it over the years. It's shameful, really. An embarrassment. And at some point someone's going to get hurt.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.

Just waiting here too... Just give me ONE NIGHT at MSG! Then I can trade my extra for the alt night!
Usually I would try for tickets to anything within reasonable driving distance. But due to Bonnaroo, I'm only hitting up with Toronto show. (Don't get me wrong...that's the happiest compromise ever)

Yea, the Pearl Jam fan base is large and passionate. Also, it seems like there a lot of fans are striking out on GA on this tour. So, Bonnaroo presents an opportunity to get close.
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts

Between work and wanee, seeing PJ here right now is a big hassle for us, just not gonna work out, but knowing they will be on the farm helps ease that pain. I will need to be up close for this show and besides Charles Bradley, PJ will my only must see up close show.
