do you think they'll drop more of the hits on us at Roo because they'll probably have more casual fans? Or just play whatever they want, in typical fashsion?

It seemed like a pretty even mix for their last Bonnaroo set. They threw in a few covers and a live rarity to boot.

They opened with Hard To Imagine. They give no fucks.
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts
People really don't seem to understand the potential for this set... PJ back at bonnaroo, most likely with no set limitations, in another election year. Greatness awaits us

I think I'm one of those not fully grokking the potential for this set. Don't get me wrong, I've seen Pearl Jam before, and know how incredible they are live, I just think less of my anticipation regarding Bonnaroo is focused on the Pearl Jam set. Mentally I'm way more focused on seeing LCD for the first time, seeing Dead & Co. for the first time, seeing Ween (my #2 favorite band ever) for the first time since their breakup, etc.
It's like I know Pearl Jam will be awesome, I'm just not focusing on it. It's a similar mental situation to Jack White in 2014. Leading up to the fest I was so focused on Kanye etc. I didn't give much thought to Jack White, even though I knew he'd be awesome. Then he came out and played my favorite set of the weekend.
With the lackadaisical LN offerings I'd have no complaints about Pearl Jam going way over their set time and leaving me happy and too exhausted to catch anything else.

I'll demand a refund if they don't go 4 hours!!!
Well, at least 3.5?
I don't know if they'll play that long, but it's definitely going to be a great show. So far on this tour they're playing between 30-32 songs. So they're playing longer than they were in 08. Also in 3 shows they have played 72 different songs. You never know what they're going to play, it could be anything.

This is exciting - Is there any difference from their shows that they're playing now to the older ones? I know people rave about the Mansfield show from 2003...I have apple music so luckily I can listen to just about every PJ live release (or at least it seems that way from the long list)

I think the big deal with Mansfield was they played 3 nights without repeating a song and one of the nights they played an acoustic set before the opener. So they played like 100 different songs in that run. I was reading an interview with Jeff the other day, he was talking about how Eddie remembers what they play in each city, so when they come back they play different songs. It will definitely be a different set than what they played last time.

Good to know. It's exciting to know we'll be getting a ton of different stuff...just makes it difficult to widdle down my bonnaroo playlist. first would problems, i guess.

It's one of the top reasons fans from around the world will follow this band around. They just started the tour in Florida, a place they haven't been in almost 10 years, and they still cranked out 96 songs with only 24 repeats of some live staples. If you've got a wide selection of live shows just pick one and let it play! That's the best way to judge what you'll get. I was going to wait until NYC to start my shows this tour, but after the Florida start I'm making the trip to Lexington!
The thought of the whole field screaming the AAGGGHHH AGGHHHHH AGGGHHHHHHHHHH part just gives me chills.
You just reminded me that PJ were booked because Roger Waters didn't work out. Which is still a bummer. But if we get this it'll make up for it a touch

I decided to stream Coachella instead of Periscope Pearl Jam tonight, epic fail.
For the record, I am a tax accountant cranking out returns. I don't typically watch webcasts of concerts on Saturday nights. It is just nice to have shows on the third screen while working.

In 2008 they had opening acts on tour. Hell, in 2008 kings of Leon was opening for PJ. The original setlist for Wrigley was 40 songs!!! (Before the rain came) Let that sink in...
After seeing this round of awesomeness last night I'm convinced beyond all hope that Roo is going to be amazingly epic.
Last night's show was magical. My 8th PJ show, and without a doubt the best one I've experienced. It helped that we were fourth from the rail, right in the center in front of Eddie. I want to relive last night over and over and over again.
Every time I hear some roo lineup negativity, I just think about seeing LCD, pearl jam, and deadco three days in a row and then I don't care. Seeing the setlists so far and knowing their show from 08, I really think their set this year will be phenomenal.
