I was planning on going to Wayhome and then road tripping to Lolla. Should I reroute or what??!
I almost hate reading OPs like this.. Makes me anxious ..
Id easily pick Lolla this year...probably couldn't go wrong with either tho
The thing about Osheaga is, a lot of people where i'm from tend to go. I shit you not, last year there was about 30-40 of us. We weren't all together but just all kinds of different groups of friends that all knew of each other. It was pretty awesome.
One irritating thing is they don't give a shit about the lineup either. Anyone could be playing and most folks will go anyways just because it's Osheaga. So it makes it difficult to rally people to Chicago when everyone else would rather go to Montreal. Not to mention the US dollar right now.. God damn. Makes it difficult to travel from north of the wall..

Osheaga > Lolla
Lolla just has too many people, too many stages that are far apart, overpriced, early curfew.
$175 for the cream of their crop and less of a hectic environment is more my speed.
Before Lolla was 4 days, it was one of the best bangs for your buck $225 was pretty dam cheap for their line ups. Of course if you have to book hotels, that's where Osheaga wins by a land slide. However I think this year Lollas line up will be worth it. I've never had a problem with the crowds since I've been going from 2008-2015...never got that criticism

Well, since you're one of the terrible people everyone complains about, I can see why you wouldn't understand.

It's not hard to pick sets where crowds are fine. Also considering you've been unsuccessfully trying to troll my past 10 posts, I don't know what to say (shrugs)
To Osheaga? Not sure. Did they even do single days? The whole weekend was $175.
they did single days. i ended up selling my 3 day(and having my whole trip paid for.. ha), and going on fri & sun.. I want to say they were $70 each day

Well, to be fair, I usually try to save my jabs for when you're doing the "I know something you don't know" routine based on shit you heard on the Lolla boards, or when you're licking Launchpads asshole for more scoops, but this one was too easy.

To be honest, I felt very crowded at Osheaga last year. It's only 45 000 people but there really isn't a whole pile of room. If you're at the main stages and you're sitting up on the hill it's pretty alright, but when you're trying to get around, you either walking on someones heels or someones walking on yours.
The con list for Osheaga is actually lengthy when I think about it..

Everyone on this forum licks that ass. I didn't know shit last year but this year knowing 2 headliners isnt anything insane...we have plenty of sources over there as well. This place isn't the only place that knows stuff lol.

so weird, i didn't think it was crowded at all.. except for exiting. i didn't spend too much time at the main stages either though

I had some short people in my group, so we were just chilling on that hill for the most part. Still dug it.
Shit man i'm only 5'7 but I still get in there.
Did you end up going after? I thought you had to bail?

I was in Montreal for NYE and I was a little turned off by the number of 18-21 yos from the east coast in town to get shitfaced. I feel like a festival set up would have a similar vibe?

Bingo. Other than that, it's very cliquey I guess you could say. Folks are there with their group of friends and don't have much concern for anyone else.
This fests saving grace is the double main stage set up, it's fairly solid lineups, and that it's in one of the best cities around (personal preference - I love Montreal a lot)

i mean you're gonna see cliquey people at every fest. and blastered college kids. I've never been, but this fest seems great and I'm really excited to see how this lineup compares to panorama.

They can't double in size unless they cut down all the trees in the parc, which clearly isn't happening. Not too mention that there's no way the metro can accommodate that many people. More likely that rumor means they are going to add maybe 10k per day (and that is frankly a huge stretch for this fest). We've been the past 4 years and love it. If they even increase by 10k a day, we'll probably pass.

I'll try and find the article. It even showed a rough outlook of what they were going for.
Edit: found the article. It's 65 000 up from 45 000. Overshot on my part, I got a shotty memory.
