I hope you meant to say Reggie Watts and part of Arcade Fire. Shit Robot was easily the worst part of that show.
I respectfully disagree, after blowing me away when he opened for LCD at Terminal 5, his appearance at MSG made me ecstatic.
Also, there wasn't a single bad part of that show, so I don't know how it's possible that something could be the worst. There was no worst.
Oh good, at first i thought you were going to go after Reggie. I'm not commenting on Shit's solo ability just his part of this particular show. His is the only track i ever seem to skip so, to me, it's easily the worst part. Still one of the best shows i've been able to attend. Nothing's perfect.
Yea, that's what I'm getting at. The field will be pretty empty compared to how big it is.
I hope so. Lots of room to dance, not too bad of a line to get into the pit? I don't get why people keep citing this is a negative thing. Oh right because we have to find something to complain about no mattttter what.
Not a complaint. If I were going this year, I would be stoked about this.
I'm hearing they'll be at Wayhome so I'll happily settle for that.
Arcade Fire was also on Sunday, right? People wouldn't even be needing a pre-LN nap, so I'd think everyone who didn't leave early would be there.
Arcade Fire was Friday night. I was in pit for MMJ and Arcade Fire back to back then Big Boi late night in a tent. It was a great night of music.
That was a fantastic night of music indeed . Operation firefly in between MMJ and AF , I believe bassnrctar played a tent that weekend too ? Not only was it big boi that night but I think it was also bootsy Collins and shphongletron that night too , and the black Angels . Funny how bands become more popular over time ?
EDIT: Didn't mean to refer to bassnectar as a band SMH

Saturday was the biggest clusterfuck I've ever seen at Bonnaroo
Black Keys unopposed What -> Buffalo Springfield unopposed Which -> Eminem unopposed What. The crowd movement between stages was the most ridiculous thing ever.

Somehow some fungus got into my body and I couldn't handle the black keys overpacked crowd , I had to leave and go listen to buffalo Springfield from my tent (still kick myself in the ass for not getting my shit together and making it there) and then Hearing Eminem from camp Darth Vader thinking he was bringing out Dr. Dre & Rhianna (still couldn't get my shit together )

My first Bonnaroo I missed every headliner that weekend haha

They'll draw every bit as well as Arcade Fire in 2011.
I think the lineup will hurt them.
The year Arcade Fire headlined there were a lot of similiar bands on the lineup. The Black Keys, MMJ, The Strokes, Decemberists, Iron & Wine, etc, you know, popular indie rock bands with the college-age crowd of the time
I think, with a lineup like the 2011 lineup LCD Soundsystem would pull an Arcade Fire Crowd, but as it stands there isn't a whole lot of other stuff from LCD Soundsystem's "era" this year. The hardcore LCD fans will be there, the hardcore Bonnaroo attendees will be there, but I think the general demographic of the festival isn't going to be that interested in them.
LCD was 16th on the lineup in 2010 and they were booked way before their album This is Happening came out that May. They were already a pre-headliner at Coachella that year. So they obviously have grown in that time since. I think they would have been 7-10 if they returned to Roo in 2011. Their absence created a lot of demand, and the "reunion" angle definitely gives them a boost on festival lineups. Unfortunately, with this lineup there's not much below LCD that is similar-sounding or from their era that would draw more people to the What Stage field. Something like Death Cab, CHVRCHES or Band of Horses is the best I can come up with and those are far from perfect openers.
LCD may not quite be major festival headliner material in terms of draw, but the quality of the show will be among the highest of the weekend.
EDIT: I think it could be LCD -> J. Cole partially unopposed LN a la Stevie Wonder/Jay Z in 2010. That would definitely draw plenty of J. Cole fans waiting for a good spot.

Sounds like no problem getting in the pit for the what is going to be the best set of the weekend. Sweet.

I have only done pit once in 8 years (last year for MMJ) but I may waste a whole day to make sure this happens for this. How early you think we are talking for this one?

Pit for LCD will be easy. Don't camp a whole day for it. Maybe get there the show before, but I'd be willing to bet you could stroll into the pit as the show starts.

My plan is to skip the show before - unless the dreaded possibility that we've all been tossing about actually occurs, where M83 is right before or even overlaps some. In which case I would probably try to catch half of M83 before sprinting over to What as fast as I can.
Fingers and toes crossed they don't do that to us though.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

+1 for Curb gif
But in all seriousness, I don't think you'll have to dedicate much time to getting into the pit for this one.
It's shocking how many people (including vets) don't use or don't even know about the pit. Many just assume it's for VIP. I did my first year, would have loved to been in the pit for Tool!
And let's be honest, LCD is going to be an amazing show, but they're not a big draw for the crowd Bonnaroo brings in these days.
And Rummy, if Bonnaroo actually manages to have M83 and LCD conflict, then Inforoo might burn to the ground from the rioting.

I think M83 is going to get a late night after LCD.
I never camped for pit, but I made it into everyone I wanted.
Never understand those people who sit at one stage the entire day.
Haven't done that since my first roo when I hung at the rail all day Sunday for burning spear, moe., David Byrne and trey anastasio . That was the correct choice, though, at the time.
Really don't hope this happens, and not sure if their day is confirmed yet.... But could HONESTLY see M83 in the Caribou spot from last year..... would be tragic, but Caribou on Sunday last year was a shame, and wouldn't put it past Roo to do that again. I feel like there was another act in 2014 that should've been late night or something that also played on Sunday late afternoon.
Agreed though i don't really think the Pit will be filled for this for some reason. Especially if they have something like Griz or Chainsmokers going on at the Which stage right after.
