Let's Discuss Tame Impala's performance at ROO!
At least we could corral the Tame Impala fans like me!
Question: Are they a progression of jam music?
FOr me, if Roo put them on the What Friday night in Deadmaus's spot- 1. As a fan, I prefer that over the Which(cluster!) 2. Their talented enough to dominate that slot. I hope they give it to them.

Tame Impala late night on What would save me from worrying they might conflict with the end of one of the headliners. I'd love to see it. I'd at least hope that if they are on Which they're the same night as LCD because I could see Dead going over and still playing while Tame Impala is starting.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

thread save and a beaut'!
going to be LN Which considering Mack and Cole will demand What spots. No idea who is supposed to lead into Dead - Death Cab I suppose. I assume Ellie and M83 will close out Which before headliners on two of the nights.
Wait, we have two Funky Munkys? Weird. Funky Munky
EDIT: I was surprised that you made this thread, but then realized that it's not you
Oh wow. I've been seeing this munky around the boards and thinking it was the other Funky Munky. I was thinking, man, he sure is a big Tame Impala fan. I was surprised about the use of exclamation points too. It didn't really seem to fit his personality. Just thought he must have gotten extremely happy-go-lucky since I last saw him.

Should I change my name to pseudofunkymunky? How about bizarrofunkymunky?

Which has hosted some incredible late nights, including My Morning Jacket, Nine Inch Nails and the Flaming Lips. Tame Impala's perfect for that stage. Hopefully they have something neat in store for us, like the night the FLips passed out thousands of mini lasers to the crowd.

Me too. I think I saw this name many times thinking it was Mal and it wasn't. Shenanigans I tell ya!

I'm not sure what's going on with these monkey/munkys... But I think this booking is an attempt to create the setting necessary for Tame Impala to have their moment equal to MMJ in '08.

Except the odds of Tame Impala playing for much more than 90 minutes are pretty much non-existant. And no they're not a jam band, because they don't jam. Everything they play is planned out.
I'd really love for them to be on the What, just to avoid rushing from whichever headliner they play after. But I don't see it happening.
I am still curious as to why they billed them as "late night." If they're doing it to build excitement, why not do it for other artists? Are they the only one they have secured for a late night spot at the moment? Or is it just Roo being Roo?

I do love Tame Impala, not a big fan of exclamation points. Late night Which fits in my opinion. I think they played 90 minutes almost exactly at Shaky Knees last year which was a great show.

LN Which with MMJ in 2008... I'm still convinced that they controlled the weather.

Tame are playing in Montreal on 6/12, so I have to assume they'll be on Friday of Roo. I just can't see them playing LN Saturday and then going up for a show in Canada. I suppose it's possible though
