FIDLAR vs Kamasi Washington? Such different genres, but I want to see both!
That's a big one for me. I have seen FIDLAR before, but they're a fun show. On the other hand, I haven't seen Kamasi Washington, but he'll also be at Forecastle. I worry that, if I save him for Forecastle, they'll be some other horrid conflict there that would make me miss out on him again.
I love HAIM, but I saw them open for Taylor Swift last year and because it's looking increasingly likely they won't be performing much new material at this show, I think it'll end up just being a repeat.
In interviews, they have been saying "They'll be playing new tunes and are excited to play them this summer."

I honestly think I'm one of the few who just doesn't get the hype of FIDLAR. I was at Dear Hunter at Riot last year, and FIDLAR was on the main stage across from Roots....and I was like "That sounds like shit." On record I like them a little, but people talk this band up too much. Shamir>Kamasi>Griz all interest me more than FIDLAR.

Bothering me currently is the Sunday choice between Father John Misty, Lettuce, and Sunflower Bean. I've seen FJM a few times and he never disappoints, but I feel like I've been there and done that. Lettuce will be fun and get me dancing. I might end up let down by Lettuce after seeing Cymande earlier in the same day. I love seeing the up-and-coming acts on the small stages and I enjoy Sunflower Bean's album. I'm leaning towards Sunflower. What do you guys think about my dilemma?
I plan on skipping FJM because I avoid daytime Which sets. There isn't even shade in the pit, is there?

Judd Apatow
Judd is over at 8:15, Nate Rateliff and Haim and Oh wonder all play during Judd's second set. That's why I'm going to his 4:45, even though I hate I'm missing Chris Stapleton. Judd's my number two act behind Tame for the whole weekend.

J Cole or Tyler The Creator?
Bonus of seeing J Cole is I have a better chance of getting in the LCD pit, bonus of Tyler is I could get pretty close since I'm seeing the 3 sets before him

Stapleton > Grandma Sparrow > Apatow > Claypool Lennon > PJ is the correct Saturday schedule.

Also Jesus that day is bad.
Skipping Steve Gunn is a bad call. He's incredible live and easily one of the best acts on Saturday.

I'm with you. Fidlar sounds like standard pop punk to me. Haven't listened to more than a few songs but that's the impression I get.
For me pop punk begins and ends with NOFX. They are all I need from that genre.

hmm interesting. I guess I'd say that I'd just wait to hear the new songs, but this also made me remember they're playing Lollapalooza too so maybe I'll just see them there.
I've never seen BoH before, but I also know 2DCC is fun live.
Any thoughts?
I'm going with Two Door; I saw BoH last summer and didn't really care for them too much. TDCC has good energy and their third album just might be released before roo.

I saw half of BOH at Lolla in 2013, they were awesome but I think Avett Brothers is wayyy better than them in regards to that folk music type. TDCC was amazing in 2013 at Lolla, they're really slick live and have insane energy. They really surprised me, because on record I was like "this is pretty cool, I would like to see them live" to seeing them live and saying "damn I wasn't expecting that all." Bands from other countries with their pop just bring it more than some of these corny ass Americanized pop bands. These Irish men will have you dancing and making you say "I'm glad I came to Roo." They're that good live.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

I don't believe Kamasi is even at Forecastle this year. Unless you know something I don't.
