Bonus of seeing J Cole is I have a better chance of getting in the LCD pit, bonus of Tyler is I could get pretty close since I'm seeing the 3 sets before him
I guess it depends on how much you care for Tyler or LCD Soundsystem. Like which show would you rather be close for? But I think Tyler's show will be more memorable because it'll take more advantage of Bonnaroo's setting and crowd. Another thing to consider is Tyler and J.Cole's shows are going to be very different. J.Cole will have a bigger show and a pretty great live band, and will be a lot more peaceful than Tyler's show. J.Cole's show will consist of throwing your hands in the air and singing along. Tyler will have everyone moshing and jumping around until you feel like you might die, think ASAP Rocky/Ferg or Danny Brown in the past years. With that being said, I'm definitly going with Tyler and I think I'll still be able to get a good spot for LCD Soundsystem. I don't need to be super up close for LCD, I just need some dancing space and some good friends.
I'll be doing Tyler into LCD as well, we should have a meet up
None of these are particularly painful conflicts for me, but it'd still be helpful to get some feedback: All of Vince and part of Leon or vise versa? Grace Potter v Chicano Batman v Anderson East? Not super attached to any of them but think all three have the potential to be worthwhile shows. Bluegrass Situation and then onto the Dead, or all of the Dead?
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

If you're not too attached to Dead & Co and/or if you're into bluegrass I'd say catch the SJ. D&C have a long show and the SJ won't happen again, obviously. I haven't caught the BGSJ yet in its past iterations but I might catch a few songs this year just to feel it out before heading over to the Dead.

yeah sure! I'll need some friends to get down with at LCD Soundsystem and Tame Impala so I don't have to worry if I'm in the "fun" part of the crowd. I'll be doing FIDLAR into Vince Staples into Tyler beforehand

I have to go to Kamasi but we should most likely meet up at Vince. Was thinking of swinging over to Leon Bridges after Vince but that's gonna be hella crowded for a tent. Might be worth it to just wait it out for a good spot for Tyler. Either way the late night scenario sounds like a good one. I'll send you a PM and we can work out meeting up.

Not exactly a conflict but does anyone feel passionate about anything on Saturday afternoon? Right now I'm thinking Grace potter> The Internet> Beach Fossils> TDCC, but I'm not set on any of them and could be swayed to see something I have over looked

nah not really, definitely the weakest time frame of the fest for me. My most passionate during that time frame is Judd Apatow. I would like to see Chris Stapleton but he'll conflict with that first Apatow show, so we'll see what happens.

Anderson East conflicts with Grace Potter but is definitely worth a listen imo. That's the show I plan to start my day with.
I saw Purity Ring last summer and wasn't super impressed. They have some cool lights, but I would put my money on Tame Impala having the better show. But if you're a big fan of Purity Ring and don't care about being close for Tame no reason you couldn't do both.
I love Purity Ring on record and live more than Tame Impala, but I think I'd agree with your final assessment: Purity Ring's shows are very, very short. They will not be playing a full hour. If you're a fan, I'd say go see them and then go see Tame Impala. You won't miss out on much.

This is my plan too unless LCD goes over by quite a bit; then I'll just head on over to Tame when they finish up. But I imagine enough people will leave LCD early for a good spot at Tame (fools!) that regardless of whether I get over there at 1245 or 115, I won't get a terribly great spot. So I might as well see some of PR.

I would check out Natalie Prass. She is probably my number two after Pearl Jam that day depending on how the Superjam ends up.

I see a lot of people listing M83 vs LCD pit line as a conflict. If Coachella was any indication the LCD show probably won't be that packed, and I'm super excited about that. They scheduled Bryson Tillee opposite them for a reason, the under 22 molly monster crowd isn't a huge demographic for LCD, even though a lot of this lineup is tailored to them. Also, outside of people in Inforoo, how many people even know about the pit lines? Most first time attendees think that the pit is VIP. Last year we were able to get pit for Alabama Shakes and Kendrick by showing up about 30 mins before their set, same thing with Deadmau5. The Kanye pit line in 2014 wasn't bad either, about 30 mins, before as well.

Kamasi Washington and The Next Step/Magnificent Seven/West Coast Get Down are the most talented musicians on the farm this year. You should definitely go see them in their entirety.

You're probably right - not expecting a huge obnoxiously packed show for LCD. What side of the pit do you usually go for?
Bonnaroo '15/'16/'17/'18/'19 - ACL '13/'14/'15/'17/'18 - Fun Fun Fun '14 - SXSW '13/'14/'15 - FPSF '16
2019 Shows: 4/30 - Vampire Weekend 6/28 - Father John Misty & Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit 9/6 - Cardi B w/ Teyana Taylor 9/28 - Vulfpeck w/ The Fearless Flyers

Go for the side closest to the VIP hill. For some reason that side is usually pretty empty even during headliners bc people get caught up on the other side in crowds and think it's the same situation in the far side. Even if you can't get pit, if you walk along the vendors at the back of What field all the way to the other side, you can usually get within 20-30ft of the pit, which is a good view as well.
Also, if any casual fans are coming to check them out, the only "hit" they kind of had was Daft Punk Playing at My House, and they play that pretty early so I'd expect it to empty out shortly thereafter.

Natalie Prass is absolutely a cant-miss show for me. I love her album so much.

this is the first time ive seen the Kanye pit line referred to in a positive light. Was an absolute mess and was not a guarantee for people to get in even if they had been waiting for hours. I was shut out of the MMJ pit last year. Im not saying LCDs pit will be that difficult to get into, but id be weary about heading there with high expectations after midnight city.
*DISCLAIMER, I PREFER TO SEE FULL SETS, NO PARTIAL SETS*
1. St. Lucia (ideally pit) vs. decent spot for FIDLAR? I'd like to see St. Lucia and get a great spot for FIDLAR, but I'm not sure what the best plan of action is. St. Lucia ends when FIDLAR starts @ 5:15.
2. Pit/pit line waiting for LCD/decent spot @ What for J. Cole vs. Pit/same decent spot @ What for LCD? Obviously both pits are not an option. I'll be coming from Vince Staples (I'd like to not leave early) so assuming he ends at 8:30, that gives me 15 minutes to get over to J. Cole and pray I get in the pit, but it's probably a toss up considering LCD is right after. I've heard of people literally walking into the pit seconds before shows before but that won't be known until show time. I'm seeing Bob Moses after LCD so a quick exit isn't imperative unlike Tame fans.
3. Chicano Batman vs. Whilk and Misky. Gun to my head I'm going W&M, but any insight here is appreciated.

. One idea you should consider for Fidlar is that if there is a large mosh pit, I think it becomes morally defensible to push through people to get to it. I think its different than a normal show where everyone wants the same thing. If you plan to get to the pit, that is.
I imagine J cole will have a pretty competitive pit line. Might be risky. Also, imo, LCD is way more interesting that J Cole. So id go with the guarantee pit access and decent spot for j cole.
This isn't even really a conflict per se - looking at the schedule again, it's the only block of time where I don't have any plans because I'm just not terribly invested at the moment in seeing any of those bands (I've seen Twin Peaks a few times before already). I know a lot of people like Vulfpeck around here, but I'd like to hear your thoughts on all of them.

Ok so originally I was really set on Wet. Since I'm not seeing Purity Ring, Wet is the closest thing I can find to fill that void. Really digging Vulfpeck, but how will this translate live? I heard the guy singing those songs doesn't tour with them, so if it's just them jamming out...that's an easy skip. Twin Peaks are really great live, saw them at Firefly at the same time slot they'll have at Roo. Idk what to do at this slot. Major upside is that Wet will have a super small crowd too. Input?
