The first Judd show at 4:45, has Vanessa Bayer and Pete Davidson, the second one at 6:45 does not. So while I'm missing Chris Stapleton, this trio is worth taking that loss.
Ok so originally I was really set on Wet. Since I'm not seeing Purity Ring, Wet is the closest thing I can find to fill that void. Really digging Vulfpeck, but how will this translate live? I heard the guy singing those songs doesn't tour with them, so if it's just them jamming out...that's an easy skip. Twin Peaks are really great live, saw them at Firefly at the same time slot they'll have at Roo. Idk what to do at this slot. Major upside is that Wet will have a super small crowd too. Input?
I've still heard great things about Vulfpecks shows and seen video, and it looks like a blast. But if Wet is something of a must see for you, go for that. Definitely feel as though Vulfpeck is a sure fire good time though.

Vulfpeck will be a good show I'm sure and I'm bummed to miss it, but I'll personally be at WET. Was going to see them this past winter and then the show got snowed out so I didn't get to. I plan to get up close for them at Roo, since as you said it'll be a really small crowd which is always a great change from the norm at a festival.

I'd say Stapleton. Every video I see of the Internet live indicates that Syd's voice doesn't live up to recordings, and you're guaranteed an insane vocal performance from Stapleton.
I WILL say though, don't sleep on Judah & the Lion. Most recent album is a little odd, but I've seen them twice now and their live show is high energy and impressive. I might end up going to Stapleton cos I haven't gotten to see him yet, but Judah is something to consider.

The Internet makes beautiful music and the keyboardist is Thundercat's brother. I saw them once at Fun Fun Fun and there just wasn't much energy for a festival setting. I'll be at Stapleton.
I'm planning on seeing him at Lollapalooza so can I get someone to text me if that rumor actually pans out and Chris Stapleton brings out Justin Timberlake? thanks in advance
Not exactly a conflict but does anyone feel passionate about anything on Saturday afternoon? Right now I'm thinking Grace potter> The Internet> Beach Fossils> TDCC, but I'm not set on any of them and could be swayed to see something I have over looked
Anderson East conflicts with Grace Potter but is definitely worth a listen imo. That's the show I plan to start my day with.
I just wasn't impressed with Grace and the new band at jazz Fest. I've never been a fan really though, but have admired her talent. Her Prince tribute of When Doves Cry and Kiss were great, but I just wasn't engaged in the show otherwise until the last two or three numbers when they began to rock out a bit. I look forward to some afternoon soul at Anderson's set. And Chicano Batman was good opening for The Arcs at the Levitation make-up show. Not as good as I had hoped, but I'd see them again. If you haven't seen them and enjoy their music they are worth checking out. Kind of like a Latin surf vibe.

The drummer handles the vocals well on those songs. Basically, the whole band is rotating instruments and places the whole show and they give the crowd parts in the songs and create sing-alongs.
I saw Purity Ring last summer and wasn't super impressed. They have some cool lights, but I would put my money on Tame Impala having the better show. But if you're a big fan of Purity Ring and don't care about being close for Tame no reason you couldn't do both.
I love Purity Ring on record and live more than Tame Impala, but I think I'd agree with your final assessment: Purity Ring's shows are very, very short. They will not be playing a full hour. If you're a fan, I'd say go see them and then go see Tame Impala. You won't miss out on much.
That's strange. When I saw them in 2013 I'm pretty sure they filled their time slot, and with one fewer album. Though I haven't seen them at a local show.
I have another: Ibeyi vs. Daughter. Leaning toward Daughter, but I'm not sure how their sound will translate live, and especially in the middle of the day. Any insight?

Wasn't a huge fan of their (Daughter''s) set at ACL. I'm also gonna troll and suggest an entirely different set: Public Access TV @ the Who stage.

The time I saw them live, they sounded very solid and I liked that they energy brought to the stage. Kind of understated but still captivating.

1. St. Lucia (ideally pit) vs. decent spot for FIDLAR? I'd like to see St. Lucia and get a great spot for FIDLAR, but I'm not sure what the best plan of action is. St. Lucia ends when FIDLAR starts @ 5:15.
2. Pit/pit line waiting for LCD/decent spot @ What for J. Cole vs. Pit/same decent spot @ What for LCD? Obviously both pits are not an option. I'll be coming from Vince Staples (I'd like to not leave early) so assuming he ends at 8:30, that gives me 15 minutes to get over to J. Cole and pray I get in the pit, but it's probably a toss up considering LCD is right after. I've heard of people literally walking into the pit seconds before shows before but that won't be known until show time. I'm seeing Bob Moses after LCD so a quick exit isn't imperative unlike Tame fans.
3. Chicano Batman vs. Whilk and Misky. Gun to my head I'm going W&M, but any insight here is appreciated.
4. Cymande vs. Charles Bradley. Toss up.
Thanks.
Bumping my post since it was on the bottom of the last page. If that is frowned upon here I apologize.
3. Chicano Batman vs. Whilk and Misky. Gun to my head I'm going W&M, but any insight here is appreciated. Chicano Batman seem like they would be really fun live and honestly Whilk and Misky sound pretty generic to me.
4. Cymande vs. Charles Bradley. Toss up. This is a horrible conflict, but I'm going with Cymande since they're a much rarer get and may not be touring much longer. Charles Bradley's fantastic live though, so it would 100% be worthwhile going to see the last 30 minutes of Bradley's set after Cymande's ends. Also, Charles tours relatively frequently so you may have another opportunity to see him another time.

This person speaks the truth. They have a Gang Gang Dance avatar for even more bonus points.
Don't miss Dungen, guaranteed fantastic way to start your day.
Saw them open up for Uncle Acid at Levitation-lite, will definitely be there for their set again.
I can easily be swayed anywhere on Saturday. All I know is I'm definitely jumping in the pit for Lamb of God and seeing Big Grams late night. Hell I could even end up seeing Post Malone or Macklemore just out of curiosity. I guess my main conflict is Natalie Prass vs The Internet. I'm leaning towards Natalie Prass because I've just been listening to her music more lately, and I'll be able to get to Judd Apatow just in time. But of course I could just say screw it, see The Internet who I've been a fan of for a long time and just explore my day of music.

1. From what I've seen St Lucia aren't anything special live. Watch a few songs by them and get to the Fidlar show early, you'll get some shade and get a better spot for that set which should be a lot of fun.
2. Head for the pit for J Cole on the left side of the stage. If you don't get in, get in line for the LCD pit. If you get in, exit on that same side and try to get in line for the LCD pit. If you don't get in the LCD pit, you'll already be on the left side of the What field where there's more room and you'll still have a good view.
3. If you're already leaning towards W&M go to that, early shows at the Which with the heat are killer.
4. I say Cymande because you have a much better chance to see Charles Bradley live another time.
You know what fuck it, I'm just gonna get pit for Macklemore just because
I start pre-gaming for Lamb of God into Pearl Jam at like 5:30 on Saturday so if I'm the right drunken mood I will gladly join you before heading over to Lamb of God.

Sounds good! I mean I did do Childish Gambino right into Slayer last year...so this isn't far fetched for me to do something like this. Of course Macklemore into Lamb of God is definitly a step down.

Ok so please someone tell me how the comedy and cinema tent. Is there anyway to get Judd tickets, go to Sausage Party, and then see Judd? Or am I going to have to see Judd show two which conflicts with frickin Nate Rateliff and Haim and Oh wonder.

I did the same thing last year. Gambino was hella packed but I was impressed with his backing band. Slayer was solid but im not a huge fan of the genre (mad respect tho) and I hung back until Tycho started then lost my mind going from that to the SJ.

hadn't thought about it in a while, but Atomic Bomb > Childish Gambino (just a little bit, but what I saw was great) > Slayer > Bassnectar was a fantastic way to spend a festival evening.

I caught the first part of Atomic Bomb but I was on a low at that time and was just laying back. Then I left for the start of Gambino which got me sufficiently amped up. That was definitely a strong late night, really wanted to catch Bassnectar but the SJ was too high on my list after missing my first one in the Skrilly SJ.

I skipped SJ for D'Angel and am highly confident I made the correct decision

superjam was my preference but the crowd was enormous by the time I got there. if you got a good spot for the SJ I'm sure you had a blast.
bassnectar was definitely a plan B but I'm really glad I made it. for years I've missed bassnectar sets because of conflicts or crowds, so this was my first real full on bassnectar experience, definitely converted me to bass fam.
for better or worse, I've had a feeling for years that one of these American DJs would take on the jamband fan obsession mantle, turns out its bassnectar. it's so funny reading the fan testimonials on the bassnectar subreddit, it's just the kind of shit I said about phish in the late 90s/early 00's. makes me happy the kids are connecting with an artist in the same way I did.
