And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts
I personally can do heat. It's mud/wetness I hate. I don't wanna stress about leaky tents, muddy spots at shows, etc.
I don't know if you really know how terrible TN heat can be.
Eddie Vedder, Nashville 2000, "If it was three degrees hotter, I think I was in hell"
I don't want wet and muddy. I will take the all the heat the TN can muster. NOLA has trained me to handle it. You northerns need to hit up some saunas to prep.
I choose Accuweather's current future pseudoreality: 85, 92, 85, 85, 85, with "a stray afternoon thunderstorm" on Saturday.
I have a friend that always checks three different weather sources and takes as gospel truth the one he likes the sound of the most, regardless of the reality.
In Virginia the forecasters use the same report all summer--"Hazy, hot and humid with a chance of afternoon and evening thundershowers".
I live close to Roo and we are in a drought. Supposed to rain this weekend which might help. Still calling for 80's warm and dry with lows in the 60s. I'd be prepared for dust and sweat. Bandana, sun glasses, and straw hat will come in handy. I'm wearing my well worn red wing boots, shorts and t shirt.

I was unaware that it has been dry... Oh, this is going to be an endurance test.

Anybody remember the year the beachboys played sunday and the weather was cool, in the 70s and sprinkles of rain....that was awesome. No mud....No heat.....Just "Good Vibrations"

Yeah, I remember that. It was the only time in ten trips to the farm I wore a long sleeve shirt during the day.
Roo is getting a thunderstorm tonight. Bring insect repellent. Ill try to provide updates. A lot of my friends are working the show.
Really? I've always brought it but never needed it in my 10 years of going. I am one of those people that attract every biting or stinging bug and I've never had an issue at Roo. Unless of course our friends at Live Nation decided not to spend money on spraying for bugs

2012
Compared to the two years before, we got spoiled that one.

I could camp in a blast furnace and feel spoiled compared to 2010 / 2011

It was fantastic. I wore a hoody to bed and in the morning. And we had Radiohead and GZA.

Beach Boys...that's who Roo needs to bring back. I'd take them over any of the three headliners this year ANY DAY.

Wait what? You would rather watch five 70+ year olds stand in place and sadly have a backing band to play their music for them while they basically pretend to play? Don't get me wrong, they were great in 2012, but not THAT great...
Got a little rain at roo last night. Forecast is now calling for mid to upper 80's and low 90's. Pop up showers have been the prevailing pattern. It will be predominantly dry and dusty though.

Dolly Parton is still headlining and doing it well. Dead minus Company are as old as Beach Boys, or close to it. And compare the years, albums, awards, and recognition of Beach Boys compared to anyone and they hold their own. I would go see them over LCD or J Cole. To each his own.

What is typically the most reliable source out of The Weather Channel, Accuweather, Weather Underground? The Weather Channel has the hot as balls prediction, Accuweather is predicting things will be quite pleasant with the highest temperature reaching 92 on Friday, and Weather Underground is in the middle of those two with its forecast. Weather Bug thinks it won't get any hotter than 87 on Friday. I'll be good any way, just trying to gauge things. The local news source in Manchester is linking to Accuweather, so I'm hoping it has proven to be correct more often than not.

I personally think that The Weather Channel is the best out of those. Accuweather is always wrong here.

Agreed. I always use The Weather Channel and it's usually right.

I love The Beach Boys. I've seen them before but it's been many years. And I couldn't possibly care any less about this year's headliners...so yes, yes I would rather have them. Lol.
The Weather Channel is now saying 93 on Thursday, 96 on Friday, and 93 on Saturday and Sunday. I may die.
There's still an outside chance a huge volcano will erupt somewhere, throw a bunch of ash in the sky and change the weather pattern before next week. ... Or it will be as hot and humid as Hades.
