Weatherunderground is going with 88,94,97,96 and they are usually always spot on! No days have a chance for rain! Gonna be hotter than Hades through the weekend
The dew point will be in the 50s (very comfy) through Friday, and then slowly start creeping into the 60s the rest of the time. No chance of rain, and mostly sunny skies.
Going to be beautiful.
NWS is where it's at. They don't try and hype up rain/Temps like a lot of other sites seem to do.
this year might turn out like 2010. I remember that year well. Had to get out of there sunday morning....heat was too much. watched WEEN and John Fogerty on the live stream at home.

I hope you are right because my weater channel app has: Thurs 86 Fri 94 Sat 98 Sun 97 Fucking crazytown temps, like death valley and shit. I'm good in the heat but that's fucking hot.
The weather channels prediction of 97/98 for Sat & Sun. kinda has me freaking! It also looks like I'll be leaving home on Wed.in a tropical depression or possibly a Hurricane!
Take the heat seriously y'all. In 2010 there were multiple people camped near us that the med people carted out on golf carts Sunday morning.
Drink water. If you stop sweating get to a med tent asap. Look out for your friends and neighbors.
I've found that if you have one of those Nike/under armor etc polyester workout shirts they feel great when you dunk them in water and wear them. They aren't as heavy as a cotton T-shirt and they are made to let the moisture evaporate. Evaporation is an endothermic process, so it actually lowers the temperature on your skin relative to the air.

A high of 92 is about the best I could hope for at Roo. Accuweather did have that as the predicted high. They are forecasting a bit hotter temps now. Highs of 84 on Thursday, 91 on Friday, and 94 for Saturday and Sunday. Looks like we will arrive right as the heat spell does. Highs are in the mid 80's for all the days this week leading up to the weekend.
I actually love driving in storms. It's so peaceful. The weather is starting to look better and better.
I'm fine with driving in it, it's the packing all the wet shit up, getting covered in mud and then putting my wet ass in a car for twelve hours that I'm not a fan of.
Yep. That's why in 2013 I packed some shit really early, then packed what was left immediately after Tom Petty (except for the really crumby generic canopy that sagged in the rain, got super bent, and didn't make the trip home). Then I slept in my car until I was fully dry and couldn't sleep all scrunched up anymore, and rolled out at like 4 or 5 AM. Bad decision, because that was not enough sleep and I stopped at least twice for quick naps.
And I hydroplaned, fishtailed, and almost missed a curve and flew off a mountain highway due to going way too fast down a steep section in pouring rain. That honestly might be the closest I've ever been to dying a horrible, dramatic death on the road. Driving 9+ hours definitely requires more than 3 hours of sleep, so I won't do that again.
Thanks for the update, but anyone who hits the like button for something like that needs to have their head examined, or removed. It's looking brutal, no matter which forecaster you trust.

Something better than driving in a storm is sleeping in a tent during one. I spent all of that post Roo Monday in '13 in a peaceful slumber in my tent with the rain pouring down all around. I got up a little after noon and was able to avoid getting muddy while I packed everything up.

Nothing will ever compare to 2010. That was a straight-up blast furnace. I picked a water bottle up off my dash on saturday morning and BURNED MY HAND on it
Weather channel app shows 91,92,97 98 Thur-Sun. I hope the local forecast is more accurate. You can't have beer with your cheerios in that kind of heat!

Agreed. I don't think 2010 will ever lose the title hottest fucking weekend ever.
Given how hot it's supposed to be coupled with the lack of rain, should one be prepared for a lot of dust this year? If so, would someone be able to point me towards a dust-prep thread? I've been fortunate enough to only attend roo during more temperate years and haven't had to deal with extreme heat and dust thus far.

It rained all weekend here, so that should help a little...but it's supposed to be nice and sunny all this week, so that will dry it up some...
Buy the individual sterile eye drops that are not visine. They are good at removing the dust. You can find them in packs of ten and are sterile until opened. That and a frog tog towel will help immensely.
I feel like I should add that the current weather is ideal for parasites, particularly chiggers, that are super prevalent in Tennessee during these summer months. They shouldn't be a problem on the Farm, as the grounds are treated to kill them off before the festival. However, I have had minor reactions to the pesticides in the past (swollen ankles and feet). Antihistamines tend to resolve these pretty quickly.
If you're camping or hanging in the woods outside of the grounds make sure to rub your legs and pelvis down with a towel or t-shirt periodically to prevent the chiggers from biting.
