Yeah. It was top notch. I'd put it up against anything this year. C3 knows what they are doing. Thankfully they didn't book Lil Yachty. You know you're old when....
I did the layaway thing for my ticket and the second payment date said it was due on like January 15th or so. So, I would expect the lineup to be announced very close to that date. I'm sure most of you already suspected something close to that, but I figured i would share

What the hell are you people on about? That Voodoo lineup was trash, outside of the headliners. Perry's style shit-EDM and the same boring undercard bands that were all over the place this year.
Shaky Knees has put out some consistently strong and interesting lineups over the past few years. Pray to God they don't fall victim to a C3-style booking. That would be a tragedy.
I hear what you're saying as to the undercard not being overly unique, but it wasn't trash outside of the headliners either. Admittedly for EDM they didn't go super eclectic and bring more off shit like Barely Alive or whatever. But no one can legitimately say Puscifer or Claypool/Lennon or Reignwolf, Pretty Reckless, All Them Witches, etc. was "trash" and be right. IMHO, that's too cursory of a way to dog C3 for the generic every other fest portions which not all of that sucked either (Anderson.Paak, Bob Moses, Tribe, Gramatik).

I believe in the Sweetwood. Could be sort of something like LN did with Roo last year in that they just increased headliner reach.
I m whole heartedly with Juggs on this one. The only part of that lineup that I really liked was the fact that they got Arcade fire and TOOL
I wholeheartedly agree Shaky Knees books better undercards than Voodoo.
But in Voodoo's defense, presale tickets are $100, and regular tickets are $140, so as a festival it provides a remarkable value to the attendee, given that the headliners are typically high quality. Furthermore, this "top heavy" method of booking is the exact way it was when Rehage was doing booking, so LN/C3 by no means changed the way Voodoo books.
What we did have this year under new management was a MUCH better run festival, with easy festival entry, great sound from all the stages, plenty of bathrooms, etc.
Not responding to anything in particular anyone said in this thread, just making some observations, because I was so pleased with my Voodoo experience this year.
So after a credit card snafu yesterday, I got a ticket to my fourth SK today.
They've had a band play an album in full each of the last two years so anyone have any guesses who that might go to this year? My complete pipe dream is Pavement playing Slanted and Enchanted (it's the 25th anniversary so that's something, right?).
Voodoo festival itself was laid out and run to near perfection. The line-up had just enough to draw me in, but for $150 it was a bargain. Tool and Arcade Fire are $100 tickets I assume, so $50 for the rest of the fest was still well worth it. I think the line up had so much garbage though that it is hard to look past.
Actually, it was just G Eazy, he ruins entire line ups.

Pavement would be amazing. One of these would be great:
Broken Social Scene plays You Forgot It in People for 15th anniversary.
Dinosaur Jr. plays You're Living All Over Me for 30th anniversary.
Television plays Marquee Moon for 40th anniversary.
So fucking tempting to buy a ticket for this. I've wanted to go so badly the past two years but was never able to make it work when the time came. I could just leave myself no choice?
Get a tattoo of their logo and don't worry about a ticket. You gets in free. Then you just worry about a place to crash and getting to the festival.
Does this still apply? I know they brought this up back in 2015.

Ticket purchased! As some of you know, I have been crazy busy and traveling (both work and pleasure) basically all over the country for the past month or so, so I haven't really thought too much about this fest/this fest vs other fests. But I have been trying to go to SK for years and the weekend should be free. Aaand even though I haven't talked to anyone, I assume there will be a decent Inforoo contingent there and Atlanta usually offers couch space... sooooo my ticket is purchased!
Also, I have a new credit card that I need to hit a minimum over the first 3 months to get extra points bonus, so I might as well!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Or they could bring back one of Wilco, Interpol, Neutral Milk Hotel, Spiritualized, Built to Spill from 2015 to play their classic albums with anniversaries next year.

I liked the 2016 version of Shaky Knees, but I think prior lineups, and particularly 2015, were pretty normal. I'm not hating because I would go if I lived in Atlanta. There would always be enough acts I like to get me through the day smiling. However, you tell me where there's a better value for $99 (no fees this year). If Arcade Fire and Tool are the only parts of the lineup you liked, that's kind of on you. But for my $99, I saw Tool, Arcade Fire, Claypool/Lennon, Puscifer, Gramatik, STS9, Mutemath, Foals, Cage, Excision, Ghost, 1 1/2 sets of All Them Witches and Reignwolf, Pretty Reckless, Anderson.Paak & TFN, Bob Moses, etc. If that's not possibly the best festival value there is, then it's probably not worth arguing. And you can take that back to 2011. It's always top heavy, and I realize there are plenty of acts that crossed over between the two near the top and bottom. But the headliners don't really compare at all. And that's the biggest thing about Voodoo anyway. Whatever you all got the last 6 years just from the top, I got Soundgarden, Jack White, Raconteurs, Metallica, Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, Outkast, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Justice, The Cure, Arctic Monkeys, Ozzy with Slash, Tom Morello & Geezer Butler, Florence & The Machine and of course Tool and Arcade Fire this year. The headliners are usually as good as almost any festival in the world. And again, it costs $100. So I'll take that all day.
I usually like the middle card of Shaky Knees, so I'm not hating. But I think you're looking at it narrowly.

I am not sure how long they have been accepting it but she got it the first year they offered it and has gotten in for free every year since. When she emailed about it for this year, they told her that they would be accepting it indefinitely as of now. It only has to be the size of a quarter (or larger).

Oh no no, you took my post as much more derogatory than I intended. All of those acts you listed from Voodoo's undercard this year are acts that I would've also been excited for; however, I have seen all of them except for Puscifer. Because of that, it wouldn't have really excited me. But, for $100, if I lived in the area, if would be at Voodoo every year just for the headliners. You listing all the great headliners you've gotten just confirms what I was saying about y'all just having great headliners. But your comment about Shaky's lineup in 2015 is just the flat out opposite of my opinion. I LOVED the 2015 lineup and thought this year was a step down in terms of quality. But, that's a major difference between Voodoo and Shaky, shaky is considered great because there are high quality, hard to see acts through the lineup as opposed to just having badass headliners
I gotcha on that Fore. I don't think we disagree much. They are two completely different fests. I think Jugs wasn't liking what C3 did with the lineup. But what they did with the fest put it on par with Waka 14 and Deluna 12 for me. And that was pretty unexpected.
I was one of the Shaky Beats contest winners. See you guys there.
Shaky Beats was fucking fantastic. I only went Saturday, but it was the best festival out of the 7 I went to this year. Would buy a ticket now but I'm broke after buying this ticket and have finals that weekend. Will try to go at least 1 day.

Fleet Foxes have made it Facebook official that they're back and will have a world tour next year.
"We have two shows happening next year that are ready to announce - the BBK Live festival in Bilbao, Spain, and the Vida Festival in Barcelona. Late June / early July. Many more to come worldwide, our third album is almost done and we're very... very... very excited"
