A guy I went to high school with got a full back piece of the Screeching Weasel logo when he was 16. A tattoo artist the next town over was known to tattoo underage kids for an upcharge. His one rule was that you couldn't be drunk at the time of the tattoo.
Bonus story: if memory serves, this is the same shop that let a lady (of age) exchange a bj for a tattoo.

im not the biggest metallica fan, but thats a pretty big get for SK if its true. Alabama Shakes -> The Strokes -> Florence-> Metallica is fantastic growth. good to see them expanding.

A very strong fuck no on Metallica from me. This year might have been a little different with more of an emphasis on hard rock/metal, but I still liked it. If Metallica gets booked I'll be truly disappointed in Shaky. Good thing Metallica isn't playing this though.

Well fuck. Now that I think about it, C3 owns Shaky, and they also put up Metallica as a headliner for Lollapalooza 2015 and also Lollapalooza Argentina, Chile, and Brazil 2017. This could be happening.
I'd be totally cool with Metallica and the tweet or whatever about using the Metallica style font seems to suggest this is the case, but that just seems so odd to me because they don't REALLY fit Shaky and I would think they would be considerably more expensive than some other really big bands that fit the fest better (I'm looking at you, Arcade Fire.)
Whatever the case, if I finally get to see Metallica at a fest I only payed $170 for, then great. Though, I will say that this does seem to suggest that they may end having a lineup like Voodoo that is top heavy, which we all discussed a few days ago. That is my only concern. Oh well, gonna have a good time no matter what, can't wait for the full lineup in a couple months!!
I damn sure hope Metallica is touring with festival stops, cause that's the only real way I would see them. Not shelling out $400 for nosebleeds in an arena. I'll gladly brace myself for the pits at ACL or Voodoo though.

This fest is a rock heavy genre fest. Essentially all the really good rock that Roo missed, Shaky nabs. This is also their fifth year, so it would make sense to spruce it up a bit. They're trying to build their brand and finally get noticed. I definitely understand the confusion of booking Metallica in a rock heavy festival that's mostly alternative, but heck Deftones have played this thing. At the Drive In just played this thing.
A billing of say Metallica-Bon Iver-Phoenix would definitely turn some heads. Hell there's already so many people doubting Roo for booking U2, RHCP, and The Weeknd. They're looking to shaky or Okee, so with C3 influence Shaky could finally get some recognition for what they've built so far and where they want to go in the coming years. Now if they start booking mainstream pop headliners like Ellie Goulding, Lana Del Ray, then you can panic. Or even EDM like Zedd. Until then, I would be getting stoked for what's sure to be a surprise whether Metallica is or isn't on the bill.

Because zomg they didn't get X acts. I hate internet group think hate on U2. Idgaf who disputes that either. I'd see them anytime and love it. Unforgettable Fire, War and Joshua Tree is as good of a 3 album run from the 80s than what anyone else did. (Edit to say mainstream) All that You Can't Leave Behind (reunion with Brian Eno as producer) was also great. So fuck some haters.

Because zomg they didn't get LCD again, Sia, Adele, Bruno Mars and other such "avant garde" acts. Fuck internet group think hate on U2. Idgaf who disputes that either. I'd see them anytime and love it. Unforgettable Fire, War and Joshua Tree is as good of a 3 album run from the 80s than what anyone else did. I'm pumped for Roo. I was originally doubting them for 2017, because while 2016 was a blast: that's not a lineup that gets me hype usually. Saw some great acts, but it was no 2014. 2017 is off to a promising start already, I've always wanted to see U2, RHCP is my favorite band, and Weeknd owes me a good set after his 2012 Lolla set dud. I really wanna go to Shaky too, because my Mom lives in GA. So I could really make that week count. Start at shaky, and then visit my mom. Doubt I'll go next year, but one year I'm doing the double down.
Yeah. That would be bad ass. We back-to-backed VIP Wakarusa and VIP Bonnaroo in 2015. I love Bonnaroo, but coming out of Waka, it just lacked all the great shit we took for granted at Waka: shade, no heat, all night every night, free beer and all. cmack back to backed Voodoo and Sound on Sound this year too. If I do any back to backs in 17 it's gonna be Okeechobee and Buku since I have tickets for both. But I'm most likely going to sell my Okee ticket because that's already the weekend after Mardi Gras. But maybe... I hear you though having your mom already there. Having a place to crash can save 300 or more on travel costs, so if you get that chance, it would be worth it in my opinion.

Just for the record, U2-Red Hot Chili Peppers-The Weeknd is going to move a ton of tickets. I like U2 especially if they are doing an older hit heavy set. They're just not enough to get me thrilled for Bonnaroo personally. That statement also goes with the caveat that, if Bonnaroo went three for three with headliners that would get me thrilled, they would sell significantly less tickets.
On thread topic, I apparently do not think Metallica would be as out of form for a booking as others here do. I do agree that booking them would signify either a large step up in their booking range or a large step down in the number of undercard acts.

I loved Screeching Weasel in high school. I would totally regret ragret that tattoo today.
